Clemson fans that I talk to would love to be in the SEC regardless of what those idiots on WCCP say. They know that winning would be difficult initially but that ultimately, the games against SEC teams would get the fan base more excited. They are more jacked about a possible Chick Fil-a matchup against LSU than they were an Orange Bowl matchup last year against West Virginia. They do know that it will be more of the same stuff that happened Saturday but the excitement level is greater. They know that the SEC is the national measuring stick and most fans and players want to compete with the best.
This being said, I know that the SEC would more likely expand into NC(NC State) and VA(Va Tech) because of additional markets than to add Clemson or FSU Last edited by rrsandersjr; 11-26-2012 at 06:19 PM. Reason: word omission |

Here's the thing, I think Clemson WOULD go to the Big 12, but I think it would be a stupid, stupid move.
Right now they're in a basketball conference that allows them to chalk up 9 or 10 wins every single year. All they have to do is get lucky enough to beat us and FSU in the same season, and they probably playing for a national title. The hell of it is, the conference is imploding, recruits are beginning to flee from the ACC brand, and the NC schools still have WAY too much say as to what happens in the ACC from day to day. So, if they make the move out of spite, or out of the concern that the ACC will become no more, what do they have to look forward to? At least 6 teams that can beat them on a regular basis, longer travel for ALL conference events (which will dent the budget) and a league run by Texas schools. Clearly they are in a lose-lose situation.

If Clemson jumps to the Big XII they are exchanging Tobacco Rd and Notre Dame for Texas. They will be in the same situation being jerked around by one school instead of a handful and lets face it Texas dictates everything in that conference.
