should i pre order my bowl tickets with the gc club

or wait til sunday and get them off ticketmaster? it looks like ticketmaster has plenty of tickets for the 3 bowls we will most likely get.

my family is going everywhere except the outback..i surely dont want to get them thru the gc club and we end up in tampa. can i reserve them now and then decide later if i want to go?

I've never been impressed with my seats for bowl games going thru the university. Maybe I don't give enough money but the people that have gotten them for me do give significant donations to the GC.

We don't get credit for tix sold by third parties. Get them from USC and enjoy sitting with fellow Gamecocks!

When you order tickets through the GCC, you tell them which bowls you will be interested in attending, how many, and provide your credit card.

If the bowl we are selected for is one that you were interested in, you get charged and get tickets.

I will also agree that I have been quite disappointed in my seating through the GCC for bowls in comparison to what is available in the free market (cheaper tickets & better seats).

I used to always get my bowl tickets through the GC, but after sitting in the nosebleeds, or in the endzone over and over... I learned going through the bowl is the best way to go for better seats...

I am getting my tickets through the bowl game this year... and have had good seats ever since I started doing that (From the Liberty Bowl in 2006 to last year)

I thought the deadline passed a few weeks ago for ordering through the university? I got my notice a few weeks ago.

Also ordering tickets through the bowls might get you a better seat but does absolutely nothing for the university, One of the things bowls look at when choosing teams is how well they sell out their ticket allottment.

But the bowls figure out how many fans of a team actually get seats through the GC Club and through other outlets.

Example....one of the bowl reps for the Papajohns.com Bowl said Carolina sold 15,000 seats through the university, but actually brought close to 30,000.. They know..

Deadline for bowls isn't until this coming Monday (Dec 3rd).

Never pre order never do ticket master. After last years capital one bowl I'll never do that again. I coulnt give away tickets. I ended up trading 8 tickets for 4 lower level seats. Tickets were going for 5 to 10 dollars. Outside stadium

Order early and get good seats. I ordered Capital One tickets through the GCC and got seats near the band.

I agree that the seats that the University gets generally suck - but there's bigger problem that the University needs to address if they want to keep people like me from buying from other outlets. I've been a FS donor for 20 years, and I buy 8 season football tickets every year . . . EIGHT! But when the bowl ticket applications come out from the University, they limit the number of tickets I can buy to TWO based on my giving level, nevermind how many season tickets I buy every year!

If the University wants me to buy tickets through the school instead of direct from the bowl, then loosen up the ticket policy to let guys like me buy more than two tickets! I get that being able to buy more tickets is a privilege associated with the higher donor levels, but it does seem like they could find some way to take into consideration the number of season tickets you buy and make adjustments for that too.

Until they change the rules to let me buy at least four tickets (only half of my regular season alottment) together, I'll be forced to go through other outlets to buy my bowl tickets year after year just so my whole family can go instead of just two of us (and we'll actually get better seats to boot)!

I have actually composed E-Mails in the past to Hyman, and other people over at Carolina about this exact same thing.... It pretty much went into one ear, and out the other.... Maybe with Tanner as AD... that will change.. Im sure the first thing Hyman looked at was my giving level, and since I was not a Diamond or Golden Spur, he probably deleted the E-Mail without a second look.

I bought tickets back in 2001 to the outback bowl from a golden spur member and our tickets were in the top of the upper deck and in the far corner. A good friend of mine got tickets through a travel agency and was near mid field in the lower level. FWIW, dont know if its like that anymore though. For the capital one bowl, I bought mine through the captial one bowl website

There are somewhere between 50,000 and 60,000 season ticket holders. The university gets 10,000-15,000 for a bowl game. The whole process has to be condensed down to fit into that maximum amount given to each school.
Some schools only give their tickets to the very top donors and everyone else has to buy on the secondary market. At least we usually have tickets down to the half scholarship level, even though they may be limited.

Thanks Doc - That's an excellent point, and I think it's great that the GC is able to make tickets available to more people, but there is also a tradeoff for that . . . one of which is that there are folks like me (and U-Dub apparetly) who would like to purchase through the GC but don't because the GC won't let us purchase enough tickets to cover our family, so we have no choice but to order our tickets from other outlets if we want to take our whole family.
