I've always heard from Clemson people that Whitehurst was quite the drug dealer on campus...doesn't surprise me about this kid getting in trouble with it. Hopefully he's learned his lesson and will do well at Carolina.

I am pretty new to Cockytalk, though I have been on Gamecock forums since 2006. I really don't understand the negativity.

1. We have a 3* Recruit as a walk on, who happened to be pursued by Bobby Petrino who many things can be said of, but he is undeniably a good offensive coach.

2. We have given many other players second chances, the fact that he wanted to come here and earn a spot speaks volumes to the type of program we've created.

3. Watching his highlight video, he is a good football player and can do many different things. Seems we could do a lot with him.

Guess I just don't understand why anyone would disparage one of our own.

Folks, brush with the law aside, this kid is an absolute steal! He has 'diamond in the rough' written all over him. His video is extremely impressive. He was crazy productive in high school, and he runs a 4.45 forty. Whitehurst isn't your typical walk-on. He has TONS of potential. Read this article and watch the video.
