wow. think if he actually did win it next year. i could see Spurrier now at every defensive recruit, "shoot, i dont know if you noticed but uh...jadeveon won the heisman last year as a defensive player. pretty impressive, huh? how bout that?"

He's going to have a ton of Heisman hype for sure.. along with Manziel, Braxton, and Marqise Lee. Gonna be tough for a defender but I wouldn't put it past Mr. Clowney.

Do you think they might let him handle the ball a few plays a game on the offensive side next season, like the last defensive player to win a Heisman did, to increase his chances?
I personally don't like the idea, because I wouldn't want him to risk injury carrying the ball. I like him as the hunter not the hunted. But I've seen some on here indicate he may be touching the ball some in the bowl game and/or next season. I don't know if those were baseless comments, or if there was something behind that. If there was truth behind it, I imagine it was to increase his Heisman chances. |

I think if he was going to win it, it would have to be this year with how weak the race is. This Heisman race is more open than any one in my lifetime. Unfortunately, I don't think that will continue next year as you'll have Mariota, Lee, Manziel, Miller, and a lot of other big time young talent on offense coming back.
Do I think he is still the best defensive player in the country? Absolutely. But this was THE year for a player on D to win it. It's just so rare.

He needs another monster year, injury free as well! But more importantly we have to be undefeated or in top 3 for him to have a chance in my opinion ,the media loves Braxton and as crappy as that league is they will go undefeated again next year

Going into Latti's sophomore year I thought for sure he was going to be our next heisman winner, I'm still positive he would've been if it weren't for those injuries. JC should definitely be in the discussion and I can't believe nobody has been talking about him for it this year
