In hindsight he should have redshirted, but it isn't a big deal. We will continue to recruit.

If he takes the strength and conditioning program serious and eats right he will add some good weight and maybe get a little quicker. Learn the playbook and work with his QB's in the offseason. The talent is there he just has to work hard.

Shaq has a few studs in front of him. He will expand some next year and have a chance to shine in 2014.

I'm still waiting for somebody to give a reasonable explanation for how they know it was a waste not to redshirt him. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Vic Hampton redshirted, and will go to the NFL either after this season or the next. It's not like we get to keep Vic a fifth year because he redshirted. What did we get out of his redshirt? Same with Sidney Rice. He redshirted and left after his redshirt sophomore year so we only got two playing seasons out of him. Now I think he was injured and had to redshirt, but still. With guys like Roland that you think will be NFL prospects after their 3rd or 4th year of school there's no reason to redshirt them. Might as well get them in games where you can and get some experience for them, and save the redshirt in case something happens.

Came here to post this. We didn't really set him up for a lot of success -- I think only two or three of the balls thrown his way this year were short/intermediate routes.

He'll be fine. I think we're just spoiled that our previous three Mr. Footballs were instant stars.

I don't think there is any reason to redshirt a WR anymore. They can leave based on one year of great play. Get them experience, you have enough slots to continue to fill with recruits, and you really don't miss out on anything but a possible 5th year.

If someone isn't too lazy, it would be interesting to see in last years draft how many WR were RS seniors.
