I honestly have never seen a more clear cut winner than Johnny Football. This kid broke the all time SEC single season yardage record...previously held by Cam Newton...who was a senior...and if I'm not mistaken won the heisman and the National Championship because of it...as a FRESHMAN...in his teams very first year in the SEC...ever!

Compare his numbers and impact and value to his team to anyone else in the game of NCAA football and he absolutely crushes...and I like Te'o a lot.

a voter was on tv last night and was asked about a freshman NOT getting the heisman because he is a FRESHMAN. The guy said the most deserving player in college football should always get the ward, regardless.

he then went on to talk about teo and say "and that is why i will vote for him next week". So, i have heard from one voter so far and its teo..i also, have heard many wont vote for a freshman.

i personally believe from watching the interview that the voter said what was politically correct. its one thing to hear the media talk about voters not voting for a freshman but a voter himself cannot come on national television and say the same thing. that doesnt mean he believes it though. that is why teo will win

Frankly, I don't think either deserve it. Manziel was a ghost in the LSU and Florida losses. He didn't just fail to put up good numbers, he was BAD. And Te'o's campaign is purely based on his interceptions. In total tackles per game he doesn't even rank in the top 50 (a stat that is DOMINATED by other linebackers) and in total tackles for loss per game he's not in the top 100. Bayless and others act like Te'o is Mr. Do-Everything, but that is so clearly not the case.

I would vote for Kenjon Barner at Oregon. Over 1800 total yards, 6.5 ypc rushing, 21 rushing TDs and 22 overall TD.

Better yet, how about a guy on a team that's not undefeated? Why do we fixate on players from the top 10 teams only? How about Ka'Deem Carey at Arizona? They guy's rushed for over 1700 yards and with receptions has over 2000 total yards, 6.4 ypc, and 21 total TD. And against a top rushing D (Stanford) he still had over 130 rushing yards and 3TD.

He had more yards than Newton and Tebow in their Heisman years. If he doesn't win it then something is for sure wrong with the process

If A&M didn't beat Bama, Johnny wouldn't be talked about. They won that game because of the D getting turnovers, not because Johnny Football led some last minute TD drive. He actually was absent from after the first quarter on in that game.

In the 3-4 he splits tackles with the other ILB. Plus every team that plays him is constantly game planning how not to throw or run his way. Teams basically didn't run screens against ND because he would sniff them out and constantly stop them for no gain or a loss of yards. The guy plays sideline to sideline and is a beast.

Fact is no one ever in the history of college football has been more productive at QB than Johnny. EVER. Its scary this kid is a freshman!

While I love watching some Teo, he isn't even the best LB in the country. You don't say "he would had....if" when voting for the Heisman.

I'm curious as to how you believe Johnny didn't help beat Bama? He threw for 253 and two touchdowns and rushed for 82 more. Every pass caught and run called he had a direct effect on. He put up more yards and points than almost every other TEAM did against the same Bama team...number one in the nation and only giving up around 233 a game. The fact that he didn't need to score on the last play of the game is because he put up 335 by himself during the ENTIRE game.

He also happens to lead the SEC in rushing and is second only to Tyler Bray...by less than 200 yards in passing...not the WAC or the ACC but the SEC.

Through 11 games he leads the nation in total yards...with over 4,160 of them. That is over 570 more yards than Newton had during his SEC record setting year...only it took Cam 12 games to do it. He is averaging some where around 378 yards a game on his own. I think at this point he is only about 200 yards away from passing RGIII and his record setting year from 2011. Newton, Tebow, RGIII...all three seniors and all three Heisman winners...this is the company he is keeping and he is a FRESHMAN...in the SEC plaing against THE toughest defenses on the planet week after week after week.

When Big George won the trophy, it still went to the best player in the nation, but not long afterward it began to go to the best player on a team that either won the MNC or was in the running for it.

Manziel did not lose those two games (to two excellent teams) by himself anymore than Te'o won all of ND's games by himself.

Personally, I would vote for Manziel.
