What debate? I contend that those kids are not going to base their decision on a pair on gloves, but on the merits of the various offers they have in however many years. You contend that DJ is "bringing them home." We're never going to know who was right no matter where they sign. If you think his being a good citizen matches up with the hype he had out of high school that's fine, based on the hype I feel he should have performed better (like maybe been a starter for a few years). It's all a matter of opinion.

...Yet you imply that MY opinion is based on that ONE example. Of course, it is not despite that you try to simplify it to a "pair of gloves". Bottom line is 'underperformed vs expectation' on the field is relative and in the eye of the beholder. As I alluded to in my original post, to some in their "opinion", he may be viewed that way do to injury and position depth. His contribution beyond the field is also relative to the discussion.

For everyone saying "it's me" please enlighten me on all the great plays that he's made. I simply brought up the fact that he was extremely highly recruited and just never got into a starting role.

I simply made this thread because he just looks like a freak, I feel like he could even get a shot at the NFL just because of his body size.

i think the 4-2 def with the spur lb didnt suit his talent in a base 4-3 i think he would have made a bigger impact. johnson kept wanting him to play spur he was not fast enough to do that look at the ark game last year when allen was out and he stepped in. wasnt good

He hasnt been what I expected him to be, but still a very solid #2 LB. Although I thought when spurrier put 2nd string in late 4th quarter of Arkansas game he really underperformed in that one.

he basically got stuck in a position he was too big for his first 3 years. this year is the matter of two talented seniors who have a leg up on him because theyve been playing lb here their whole careers. jeffery is the kind of guy who if he can perform well in a postseason all star game and in pre draft workouts that he could potentially make a team and have a bigger impact on the next level than he did in college.

22 tackles, 16 unassisted. Also has 3.5 tfl and a couple pass break ups and hurries.
