Both players have received a lot of attention and rightfully so. It's much easier to judge/grade a QB than a LB.....many times LB are doing all sorts of things that never show up on the stat sheet and I think Teo has done that and has also made everyone else on the defense better. But in the end, people come to see the QB play and put points on the board and not the middle LB make tackles.

Wait a minute, I posted his numbers against Fla and LSU, they were OK, not great. But those 2 teams offenses took over the game against A & M's defense. That's not Johnny's fault. One way I like to think about it, Manziel has made Scam and Tebow irrelevant in one year......pretty impressive. Said another way which may not make me any friends, if he were Carolina's QB this year, we would be 12-0 and playing Bama to get into the NC game.

the FLorida game needs to be thrown out the window. it was TAMU's first game in the SEC... of the season... in the Swamp. Get real everyone. We almost lost to vandy. Anyone who puts so much stock into the first game of the season is retarted ESPECIALLY when it comes to picking the heisman winner

Wasn't in the swamp but at A&M. Also what about LSU and 3 picks in the second half?

its LSU tho... even the best are going to have a bad game thru a 12 game season. manti only had 6 tackles and 3 solo tackles vs navy but no one talks about that. im just sayin... manziel did it against the SEC... Manti didnt. Manti has a Dline to make him look better. Manziel doesnt have the best oline or wr's

That's because he didn't at half the game. My point is to be the Heisman you should play big in big games, and manziel only has done that once and even the. He didn't do much in the second half. I think there are other QBs who are more deserving like Khline.

Also to everyone making a big deal about him having more total yards than newton and tebow, manziel has throw the ball 50x more than tebow and over 100x more than newton, their bowl games are factored into their stats.

Tebow ran 210 and Newton like 240 while Manziel is at 190. So not really far off considering with 2 games he definitely surpass tebow and come close to newton. My point is that his stats are inflated. He is exciting and has had a great year but just looking at his stat total and not the actual big games and the details of those stats it is easy to overhype him. Just like those who keep repeating how he has most yards of any QB in SEC history.

how are they inflated? lol he had a had SECOND HALF against a top 5 defense in the nation. His first game that they lost... was against another great team when no one even knew what he could do. What did he do against Florida in the second half? How many points did they score? Oh that's right he was non existent when his team needed him.

Having your QB throw the ball 50+ a game and run 15-20 a game is going to get him largely inflated numbers. There is no way for a LB to inflate his numbers like these offenses do for their QBs. I'm not hating on Manziel, just not overreaction and joining the blind lovefest like many fans are doing. I can recognize a kid who had a great year but realize it doesn't compare to previous offensive players years. I also don't think he is the most deserving QB let one offensive player, sorry for not following the manufactured love affair that has existed since he beat Bama.

What cracks me up, is how many on here rip Clemsux and Boyd's inflated stats, and offense, as being overrated but yet act like Manziel doesn't have a similar inflated stat line, just because he plays in the SEC. Yes, the SEC top teams have legit D, which all limited his numbers, but the bottom D's are what gave up massive stas to Manziel.

One bad game against one of the best 3 defenses in the country disqualifies him from the award. I watched 100 college games this year and there isn't anyone in the country that can do what he does with the football.....the RB from Oregon is good, but he can't throw.
