If I was the judge, I don't care who voted for that amount or against it, it would be difficult to argue that the amount is not punitive and excessive (3 years of the sports operating expenses for members of a financially struggling conference). For that reason, I feel it will trimmed down to $20,000,000 - $22,000,000 range as lesser amounts in other conferences were bargined down in the past. If so, that might give FSU and Clempson enough time to raise enough donations for such a matter to approach the Big XII for membership, money in hand. If FSU & Clempson approach the Big XII, they will be let in. That essentially kills the ACC and the VA & NC schools will approach the B1G & SEC for homes.

I wouldn't be surprised if a Judge completely threw it out. Maryland went on record voting against it and promptly found someplace else to go. All Maryland would be responsible for is the exit fee prior to this lastest increase. This would set precedent for FSU also, but Clemson would be screwed as they voted for it.

Louisville might have gone to the Big 12 if they called. The Big 12 should have moved. They lost out.

Now, I wonder if this move by the ACC isn't just going to piss off the Big 10 again...as Kentucky is right next to big 1o country.

Because if you take into account the basketball and football teams Louisville is better overall. And if you think Louisville's academics are questionable, UConn can't even play in the NCAA tournament this year because of how bad their scores are.

Valued at around 36 mil, making around 23 mil in profit.

That's good for basketball but then you have teams like ND and Texas who are valued at over 100 mil and profit more than UL's basketball team.
Add that with their football team that doesn't make much, their athletic program is not as valuable as people think (although I sensed sarcasm in the post I quoted)
