Since we're nearing the end of the season, I've seen some projected depth charts for next year.
Based on that, is there any players out there that may decide to declare early for the draft? I heard some talk about Victor Hampton, but that was all. |

I'd like to know this.
All I've heard is Vic Hampton and Marcus Lattimore.

Hampton isn't really thinking about going early is he?
He had a good season, but there are several high round CB's this year who had really good stats. Maybe he can go to the combine and show out. I hope he takes the advice if he is projected late, wait a year, if he's projected early then go. I just don't think he'll be projected in the first 2 rounds right now.

Vic, Lattimore. Legree and Sutton might put papers in to get an evaluation.

I really don't think Latt is entering the draft. If so i hope it is the right decision under his current circumstances. He is a great person and ambassador for the Gamecock Nation! That said (being selfish) I would love to see him get to run out on the field @ WB one more time! That would be surreal. I will not miss it for the world if he stays!

Anyone who is eligible should at least put in the evaluation papers. Even if they aren't projected to be drafted the report gives them scout information on perceived strengths and weaknesses.
Outside of Lattimore though I don't know that any of the guys would get first or second day grades. |

I can't say that any of these will actually stay, but none of Vic Hampton, Chaz Sutton, or Jimmy Legree will earn high enough grades to make it an actual wise choice for them to leave. Sutton will benefit the most from another year with Taylor gone, and Legree and Hampton still need to solidify themselves, they are far from premier prospects currently.

The Melvin Ingram factor...this should encourage them to stay.

I don't agree....I think the injury changes things drastically. I'm not saying he was definitely staying, but now that he's hurt again would it really be smart to risk coming back? I mean he won't be playing next year regardless (and if he does it'll be at <100% and only part of the season).
So he'd have to stick around for TWO more years, and then play a full season with 2 rebuilt knees and hopefully show out enough to remove doubt and increase his stock. OR he can declare, get drafted mid-low rounds, get paid for the next 2 years (this is the important part), and rehab with a pro team. Objectively, this seems like a much better choice given the circumstances. |

Hope they all stay! However I can understand Marcus's situation the most.

Vic's coming back, Sutton would be an idiot to leave, Legree is not leaving! Lattimore is gone.

I don't think Vic leaves, or Chaz or Jimmy.
The only one I see leaving is Lattimore...and just to not risk a third injury in college. Kornblut has reported he is leaving...and an interview with prospect David Williams said the coaches weren't thinking Marcus was coming back.

On ML, I think all the Pro clubs will want to see if he recovers form before plunking down any decent contract money.
