That's a valid point. Williams-Brice has quite a few run down neighborhoods around it like Olympia and the Bluff Road neighborhoods that wouldn't exactly appear welcoming to visiting fans.

That's why Legion Field's neighborhood didn't bother me that much at the PJ Bowl. Equally sketchy areas exist just a stone's throw from W-B.

They have cleaned up the area right around the stadium pretty well and there is a nice size park between it and the river its not bad there just don't go outside of the pretty brick area. I saw someone complain about paper mills in Jax you'll never smell them at the stadium the only industrial place around it is the Maxwell House coffee factory so you get the smell of fresh roasting coffee throughout the day.

Don't forget the Rosewood area. Leaving the campus area, once you cross over Rosewood, it gets bad. I used to visit the old skatepark at Owens Field and there were always sketchy characters back in that area. Probably worse than Olympia IMO. I don't know much about bad neighborhoods down Bluff- just several large college apartment complexes.

I actually like the Olympia area having many family from there, but I know it looks bad to those outside the area.

I actually had a good time in Tampa for the first Outback appearance. That said, it's becoming a little redundant for our appearances there. Switch it up and head to the Gator. It's a shorter distance and Jax isn't all that bad. If they want us and SOS likes it, why not?

To me, Jax has much better traffic flow than Williams Brice. However, you need to pick the right route out of there. If we go, I will point my prefered route on getting in and getting out. From the south, use the hart bridge, from the north, use the MLK. Stay out of downtown if coming from elsewhere. We will worry about that if we get the Gator.

They also will have park and ride bus service.

I still hope and think we are coming to Tampa. Three reasons:

1. It's a better bowl. Pretty simple and most important. Better TV slot and in pecking order. That is important. Tampa area is 10x the recruiting bed.

2. New Years celebrations. For some reason, many people have commented they don't want to go back to Ybor City like that is their only option. You have Channelside, South Howard for the college folks, Rocky Point, Clearwater, downtown St. Pete, and any of the beach towns along Gulf Blvd in Pinellas.

3. Weather. Can't beat it right now.

4. The stadium is 5 miles from my house.

I was ready to pack my bags for Tampa, but Jacksonville would be even better. Either way, I'm going bowling! Nothing would be better than whipping Big Blue in a bowl game. We've done it to OSU, why not Michigan?

I know when I was a student, I wanted us to get the Outback after the 2000 season. Had a blast.

(Trying to remember, I think the other bowl that we were considered for at that time was the Chick-fil-a but I'd been through Atlanta so many times it just bored me.)
