See, every article picks Clemson & FSU joining the SEC. It's scary to think if Clemson gets in what it would do to our program. We take pride in being in the SEC, It's what we have that they don't. If the SEC allows Clemson in I will be highly pist.

I know this gets talked about all the time with UK,UF,UGA and SC blocking UL,FSU,GT and Clem but if Slive came in and said its Clemson or FSU to go with VT UF and UGA would vote for Clemson 1st.

Clemson nor FSU are coming to the SEC. I GUARANTEE that. They don't bring any additional tv market share. Adding teams is all about gaining market share from the most suitable possible candidates. Obviously, the SEC isn't going to go after Boise State to gain the Idaho market, but they are going to go after or accept inquiries from teams in the southeast/midwest that will introduce new tv media outlets/markets.
Therefore, you can take off gt, fsu, miami, clemsux, baylor, and louisville. If we expand, we're looking for NC, VA, OK, or KS.

Where in that article did you read Clemson or FSU to the SEC (because it is not there)?
The article in BOTH the ACC and SEC section says that VT is the one who will be moving along with a NC (UNC or NCSU) school. On a side note, Clemson Nation would go into total meltdown mode if an offer was extended to NC State over them. |

SEC should at least consider Cincy as well to grab a pice of the OH market. Cincy is usually decent at hoops and fb, and is on its way up.

The big East and the ACC need to just become one conference, and get rid of those West- Midwest teams.

I said....... It says it isn’t much smoke around the idea but still every article they bring it up. I was basically saying that they always talk about CLEM & FSU when they mention SEC expatiation. Even if their no contender to join, they still bring them up. I understand that it's a 90% chance they don't join but the other 10% of my thought process is that if they were to ever join I would be outraged. |

Why would UGA vote for Clemson over FSU? I doubt the veracity of your statement. Clemson is basically in Georgia, so I fail to see how a rational, self-interested UGA would choose them over anyone other than Ga Tech. Carolina and UT would vote for Ga Tech over Clemson. Should be easier to sell that to anyone else as well. Lessee deeper penetration in Atlanta or owning the pendleton SC market? Finally georgia should vote for whomever Steve Spurrier directs them to. Best case scenario to me is we take the Virginia schools, both of them.

F no. Cincy adds nothing, and this is coming froma guy from Cincy. Facilites are nowhere where they need to be for SEC standards. Fan base is horrible, can't sell out 35K and basketball attendance is way down.

Articles like this, and they are everywhere now, are mostly people speculating (ie talking out of their ass). My own version of that is that the SEC is under no pressure to do a damn thing right now, the conference can afford to sit back and watch for now, but could snap up a Va Tech or NCSU if the ACC starts to sink.
