English was the GA Defensive POY and Lawing is really jacked about him. He works hard and has a good motor. Alfy will have to beat him out and think that could be hard.

English played a little bit this year I think against East Carolina, not 100% sure, but from what I saw he seems to be pretty quick off the line. Reminded me of a little bit of Clowney. Should be a very solid player.

I dont know if Gurley is going to be ready to play at the beginning of next year. Safety is the one position that gives me a little concern. CB does also, should Vic not come back.

Yea I don't think Gurley will be ready for the start of the season either since his injury was just a few weeks ago.

We should be OK at safety. We lose a lot of experience with DJ but Gurley when he returns will be a solid player alongside Brison who was pretty solid this year. Marcus will probably start until Gurley gets back and he played some this year too. Also you have Kyle Fleetwood. Moody and Elder can play Safety too I believe.

At CB even if Hampton goes pro we should have a solid 2 deep of Legree, Christian, Rico, and Elder. Also have Ronnie Martin coming in from prep who can really cover from what some say. Definitely relying on some young guys in the secondary.

As far as speed and athletism I think the order is
1)Clowney (guarenteed start)
2)English(if the gains 20lbs he will be the starter)
3)Hill (i've only seen his highschool tape but he is very athletic)
4)Sutton (fifth year senior so what we saw last year is what we will get next year)
5)Dixon (not very athletic)

yeah, but there is no guarantee that it comes back 100%. sometimes guys never get back to full ability after an injury like that. but i surely hope he does. i'm not worried about the wrist. but if his knee comes back with the same ability he had before, i fully expect him to take the reigns in the rb corps. while all of our rb's are extremely talented, none of them have carson's skill set. this kid can flat out fly! and he is a little hulk as well, so he can also bull through the line between the tackles.

If we get JaQuay Williams out of FUMA, that may change things.
Also, I'm interested to see how Shaq, K.J., Kwinton, Jody and Shamier progress.

We could have a very deep corp next year, because I've heard K.J. and Kwinton catch everything thrown at them, and both would give us some needed size.

I do believe Ace, Bruce and Nick will lead the corp, but look out for these guys...especially Kwinton, K.J. and Jody.

I'm with you...Sutton and Clowney..with Hill and English backing up (apparently, English is very fast like Clowney, but doesn't have the size and strength....yet).

1. Get open

All indications were and continue to be that Carson is running great on the knee and he would of been fine despite the wrist injury.

I agree on Sutton. He'll have the starting job next year. He got a ton of snaps this year especially in the rabbit package. But as always we'll rotate linemen heavily and Hill and English will get plenty of snaps too. Doesn't really matter who starts.

I know I am not who you directed the question at, but my opinion is you are right about the first 3. But Jones is not going to be in the starting lineup. He will be replaced by either K Smith or Fuller. I will even throw Jeffery into the mix. He has a whole year to warrant himself worthy of playing time. Jones has not been a disapointment, but he was definately over hyped. Someone will take his place.

A lot of Gamecock Nation will disagree with this call as well, but Byrd's spot is his too lose. He just hasn't been consistent enough.
