Michigan has a better record. They are in a different division than UM. B1G was really messed up this year with OSU and PSU not being able to go to post season.

Wisconsin is playing by default due to OSU and PSU postseason bans. Number 2 means 2nd selection....not technically 2nd best team in standings either. In addition, Wisconsin won't be eligible over Michigan or Northwestern due to a ruling from bowl committee regarding win totals.

Regardless of bowl location or payout, I think a USC vs Michigan matchup would be huge for us. Big TV audience, chance for Clowney to stand out and make hype for the Heisman next year. We already own Ohio State, it would be nice to pick up some other B1G Ten real estate.

We had a very good season, top 10 ranking, beat the current #3 team, only lost to two top 5 teams on the road, etc... I think it is insulting to have to play in the Gator Bowl. It is also bad for recruiting; if a recruit looks at what we did this year and sees that this only earns you a trip to Jacksonville, FL if you play for us.

Wisconsin is 7-5 (4-4) Michigan is 8-4 (6-2)

Most 16 & 17 year old kids do not understand the bowl pecking order. Heck, most 30 & 40 year olds don't .

Well, maybe they don't but it will certainly come up in the recruiting process. If I was a UGA recruiter I would say, "Sure we lost to SC three in a row, but we play in the SECCG and BCS bowls, they go go bowls in Jacksonville, FL."

Probably what matters more to the players are the gift packages and the per diem. Bowl location and status is probably important to players, maybe a little more important to us.
