JaQuay and Shaq Wiggins (same hs before JaQuay went to Fork Union) are good friends and want to play together. However, Shaq is now open to visiting Carolina, so perhaps he'll switch and we could get both......but that's speculation at this point. So even though JaQuay is visiting Carolina this weekend, it could be an uphill battle if they do want to play together with Shaq's commitment to GA. This info was on TBS.

If they don't want to do it, they don't have to. You know, because ultimately this is a message board. smh

There was something on Hood and Thomas a few weeks ago that said they still want to come to Carolina and both are doing well. There was an article on Harris that said he is doing well, but the earliest he would be able to enroll is Jan 2014....I think those dates are correct. The other potential problem about Harris is that depending on the quality of the offensive line at the time, the coaches may not want to take Joe since he won't be able to play but 2-3 years.

Wouldn't he have moved on and we would have quit contacting him if we didn't want him? Seems like coaches are still contacting him, why waste time if we don't want him?

Good point. Why would the coaching staff continue wasting their time and the kids time if they plan on just pushing him away for someone else?

Would be awesome if we were able to pull both of these guys in. Getting Williams to campus this weekend certainly helps.

That might be "not counting your chickens before they hatch"... Why would they just quit talking to him when there are no guarantees with Williams? If Williams decides to go elsewhere, they at least could push for Bryant instead of burning the bridge now. Seems simple enough to me.

Yeah but this isn't really a Quinshad Davis situation where he'd commit if he could but we won't take it at this point. We're still recruiting Bryant and if he wants to be a gamecock, he will. The whole "staff wants Williams" thing has been blown out of proportion IMO. I'm sure they do prefer Williams - not all of our guys are #1 on our board.
This is one of the dangers of message boards - they're awesome because of all the easily accessible info and discussion but man, all it takes is one person with a pay site membership to read too much into a statement and suddenly speculation becomes fact. For the record I have zero inside info, I just think these boards have a lot of people making assumptions that also have zero inside info so I try to keep that in mind. |

To keep it simple, I'm just going to say that I will be EXTREMELY happy with whichever RB we land. I don't see how anyone can honestly feel any differently.

I always wonder what keeps some of these guys from making the grades, especially considering the already lowered expectations for athletes.

One recruiting site has Bryant ranked #14 RB in the whole, entire, complete, United States of America.
That very same recruiting site has Williams ranked #19 RB in that very same United States of this here America. Big deal. Five spots apart. Different type runners and our coaches want to have one type over the other. This is like arguing who we should take if they were Summers and Watson. Different needs, different runners. The coaches know better than us as to who and what fits in better for the team. This is predicated upon that recruiting site, or any recruiting site, having some way to really be that exact...which they don't, of course. People would still be bitchin' if we got Bryant and let Williams go only to discover Williams became a big star and Bryant didn't or if by signing both meant we did not otherwise use one of those scholarships to get a kid at another position that turned out to be a star somewhere else. You can't win.

I just don't like how some people on here are downplaying how good Bryant is. He will make a team out there very happy. There's a reason he's 5*. He's extremely gifted so don't act like you don't want him to sign here. As long as Williams or Bryant signs I'm happy. Both would be phenomenal.
And to the guy who thinks the only difference between Duke and Bama is coaching and player development you are way off sir.

I know they want to play together, but is it realistic we get either?
Wiggins is committed to UGA and has been recruiting other players to join him there. Then Williams said he'll make his decision Sunday. If you make a decision that quick, does that mean you already have an idea of what your decision will be? He hasn't made an OV to us yet, so it sounds like we have to wow him/them. I guess the only thing I see is that UGA has 30 commits as of today. Maybe they are getting nervous there won't be room...because I think UGA is still going after OLs. (Sidenote: I thought the SEC has a 25-player limit, but I'm assuming some are EEs so they will back date to the 2012 class). |

I dont think we gotta shot. He is retweeting alot of texas a&m fans and has also given UGA a few shout outs but not a single sign of a gamecock shout out.
