I saw Dylan play against Byrnes his senior year. We beat them pretty good but I could tell he could make the throws especially on the run. He had already signed with us by then and I was like hmm, this kid can throw. He threw darts on the run into tight windows and I must admit I thought we would have a solid backup but not a potential starter.

Replying to my own post. Well I got everything right except the potential starter cause he has started games as we all know, especially Clemson fans.

Dylan has been really great when he has had to play. Having said that, he has faced weak defenses. Had he performed so well against decent to great defenses I would be all in for the guy. Also, lets be real. If he was a 5 star recruit everyone would have been screaming for him no matter what.

If he was a 5 star then he probably would have been Garcia's successor instead of Shaw... you don't keep recruits like that on the bench unless they just show they aren't ready to play at all... at this point in his career, if he was a 5 star, he probably would have came in more polished and already been given his shot... So, this whole scenario is just pretty ridiculous and pointless to discuss. The Coaches are going to put the player they feel gives them the best shot to win on the field, bottom line, so it really doesn't matter anyways.

this is a ridiculous thing to talk about waste of time if shaw is healthy, he is the man, if he isnt ... is dylan. both can play i remember the days when we used to play two qbs and a wr and go 5-7 we are fine at qb no matter which one plays we should probably be celebrating

SOS is very loyal...if Shaw is healthy he starts. Connor is a good QB, a good runner but only a decent passer. SOS has stuck with Shaw because he doesn't usually turn it over and gives us the best chance to win. If our defense wasn't nearly as good, Dylan would start. I also think Dylan gives us a better chance to win against good teams. Connor has only had 1 good win against a quality team in 2 years, that was Georgia this year. I don't think he's had a good game against a quality team on the road.

Really, and just how many games would he lose ? And how would the fan base react ? We've only lost 2 out of 12 and still the conversation remains.
