Big 10 wants all their members to be in the AAU (I know Nebraska isn't but they lost that after they were admitted)

I don't understand the term "grant of rights". Exactly which state or states is that legally enforceable, or is it a federal statute, which I doubt. I'm assuming it's part of the contract each school has signed with the conference, but how does it obligate each conference school.

VT has Richmond and also gets a nice following from the DC area. So you have to think you're getting Virginia and DC which is actually a nice sized chunk of viewers. VT makes a good bit of sense. As for Kansas St that won't happen even with the KC market and potentially the STL market.

VT is also very big in Hampton Roads, a top 50 TV market, and recruits the hell out of that area.

I agree....I understand VaTech I live in Va, but not Okla since they are a package with Okla St. With Kansas St, we already have the St Louis market with Missouri.

Tech is probably bigger in Hampton Roads than anywhere else in Virginia.
