I agree as well. He shouldn't have announced it before the game either. He would have looked like asshole of the century if the spurs would have won w/o them and they almost did.

I actually watched some of that game, and the Spurs scrubs almost beat the Heat - they played really well.

I like it. If I happened to be a Spurs fan that lived in Miami for whatever reason, and I bought a ticket to the game say before the season started, I'd be pissed if the best player for the Spurs was Tiago Splitter.

coach pop was doing the best thing for his team. got some guys experience against the world champs while also resting his old stars in a game very early in the season that doesn't matter.

david stern should be taken to court for this. how the hell can you fine someone for lineup/coaching decisions.

As a Heat fan, I think the fine is completely uncalled for. Look at San Antonio's schedule and tell me it isn't a smart move. Can't wait for Stern to be gone, it can't come soon enough.

This is BS. David Stern has ruined not just pro basketball, but has helped destroy it at all levels with his stupid decisions. You can't fine a team for resting players. It's the NBA's fault for having too many games and playoffs that home court doesn't really matter, which makes the spurs have nothing to play for.
