So i dont get to watch a lot of Basketball games and im Not a huge BBall guy but would like to know how the team is looking!!! Thank guys

A lot more fight and effort than the past few seasons. Frank has put his signature on this team already but they have A LOT of work to do.

Up and down. They are inconsistent and don't always do what the coaches tell them. And there is a lack of athleticism and basketball skill needed to really be good. But the team is a work in progress. We'll see how it goes.

Compared to Coach Horn's team, these guys are much better at the free throw line. (Except last game)

It's difficult to really compliment this team after their last game on the road vs. St. Johns

But in the games they have won..They have a nice 3 point shooting game, and they get a lot of points in the paint.

B. Williams was our biggest 3 point threat but was injured at St. Johns.

Carrera is a beast, he plays hard around the rim.

LeShay Paige, the transfer from So. Miss is a baller! We'd probably have a few more L's if it weren't for his contributions.

This is a typical first year team with a new head coach. I think this team will win a few more than last year, but this team will be good in the next few years.
In my opinion, the team e see starting next year will be light years ahead of any of Darrin Horn's team, because there are a lot of guys who can score, not just one.

Also Bruce Ellington played his first game back. He was a little rusty of course, but got plenty of minutes out there a got a few buckets including a 3.

They're not bad per se. A lot of new faces mixed with horn's recruits + new coaching staff can lead to growing pains. It's to be expected. But they play hard. I can handle L's so long as theres progress. You can tell we are in good hands with frank

I think it's evident that most all of Horn's recruits are players that FM would have never recruited. Exceptions may be Bruce and Brian Richardson. Frank is trying to put a good team on the court with a lot of players that don't fit his style of coaching. I believe this team will show progress throughout the course of the season, but we will struggle to win over 17 games.

The fact that they're "trying" is FAR more than any of us could have hoped for right now.

11 total wins last season, already up to 6 now. We only had 3 wins by this point last year.

We could drop the rest of the games this year and I'd be happy based solely on the fact that we now have Frank Martin and I have total faith he will make us a much better program in the next few years.

How Bruce's body can handle this constant high level athletics is beyond me, he is a monster..

He is probably the most physical PG at in the SEC at this point and has as much experience in high pressure situations as anybody, both due to football

Martin's players will be blue collar type players, with hopefully a couple of complimenting white collar.ie elite recruits that are highly recruited out of high school...get that mix and will be competitive...right now it seems more of adjustment and learning how to play the game the way it should be played..Martins way...doesn't matter whose recruits are playing, play hard and do the best they can ... leave it on the court and they will do better than they even expect...It's gonna happen...patience...

Guys are still playing hard...but you can tell Martin is having to break a lot of bad habits the players developed under Horn.
Also, there is just a talent gap..St. Johns showed us that we are at least two solid recruiting classes away from being anywhere close to the good teams talent level.

But, the guys are playing hard, they are trying, and if this team can win 15-17 games, I'll be happy.
