From what I understand Jamari Smith can fly as well. Looks like speed is what we are looking for this year.

Just watched some senior highlights on him and he looks alot thicker than his junior highlights. If i had to guess id say he is closer to 205 than 195. If he maintains his weight and continues to get stronger in the coming months he could see some early PT as a freshman. The kid has some serious skills.

I'm sorry and maybe I'm just a homer but I think if you saw Shon Carson on the field then you might would change your tune. Williams may indeed be faster but I HIGHLY doubt he would be "by far" the fastest rb on the roster. If Shon can stay healthy then he'll open some eyes.

i agree. it is easier to take guys that are fast and beef them up, than it is to take big guys and make them faster.

Right now, I think Christian is second fastest but that's not counting Carson. I really want to see what all them can do. Remember, 2 years ago, SC had worked his way to #2 behind Marcus.....that's when he got hurt against Ga.

I love the promise of Carson, but until I see him out on the field I'll still say we need to keep signing backs like Williams and Bryant.

Disagree regarding every down RBs. Too many examples to cite. However, elite speed everywhere else is crucial. A scat back would be nice (not Jarvis Giles ), but I would love a Darrin Sproles type w A strong lower half who can fly (Keith Marshall reminds me of him a bit).

I assumed Williams and Carson were not necessarily every down backs.....used more in passing situations. I'm not saying they won't get some carries, but I don't see them getting 20+ carries per game like Marcus.

You mean w/ Strong in the mix at UT? My prediction is Strong gets a big raise at Louisville and UT ends up w/ Fedora or Butch Davis.
