Most of the parents are staying at the Embassy Suites 555 N. Westshore Blvd in Tampa it is 15 min away from the stadium. The price is 145.00 per night which includes breakfast buffet each morning, in the evening from 5:00-7:00 they have free appetizers/bar. The rooms includes a kitchen,living room with pullout sleeper & then a seperate room with 2 queen size bed, they are very nice...

There are more hotel rooms in the bay area than there are seats in the stadium. Shop around. You might just find a room on the beach at a price as good or better than what Tampa cost.

I booked the Sheraton Riverwalk for $81 a night on Hotwire. If you book on Hotwire you don't know the hotel you're booking so I always go up one star category above what I'd normally settle for and it always works out.

You sent me a PM, but I thought I'd just reply here for everyone else.

Anyhow, there isn't a huge difference from staying at either location as far as mobility goes. Westshore and downtown are just a few minutes down one road from each other (Hwy 60/Kennedy).

Westshore will probably give you more access to restaurants and shopping. Staying downtown will possibly, depending on hotel, put you in walking distance to Channelside...which you can then take the trolley to Ybor City.

Both have easy access to I-275 for getting around quickly.

Downtown Tampa is more of a 9-5 downtown rather than a lively one at night. There are a couple restaurant/bars that stay open but other than that, it is pretty dead (except for Channelside).

Walking around shouldn't be a problem, although you may pass by a few homeless here and there (big problem down this way) but they are harmless and just looking for change for their next fix.

It is pretty bright and lit up around downtown, so you should be fine.

We actually made reservations off I-4 near Tampa. Ten miles from Busch Gardens and 14 miles from Raymond James. Just going to do the Tampa thing for a few days.

Saw the team last year at Universal. Trying to find the schedule right now as to what day they'll be visiting BG.
