Just fine by me - my worry is that with all the hype and since he's already expecting to leave, he'll start to slack a bit during practice and S&C. Would hurt his own draft stock AND the teams chances next year.

Let's hope not! Maybe now he'll really kick into overdrive and work for an unheard of type season.

If I'm being honest, I have a problem with him leaving after three years. What happened to being loyal to your team? Your fans? Your school? Plenty of high profile players come back for their senior year because it's the right thing to do! And what about getting that degree??? Whatev. LMAO! GO GET 'EM JC! Seems like he's got a great motor to me. Especially for someone with such hype. Also, Lawing will sit his ass on the bench if he doesn't come to work, but he will.

I'd rather have a guy be up front about it than say a bunch of BS people want to hear like Sidney Rice did. Kudos to Clowney for being forthright about it.

be thankful of two things:
1. that he signed here, he was a 3 and done wherever he went
2. that the NFL has that rule

cant wait to see him in the NFL, i just hope he doesnt get stuck on the Jags or a perennial bottom feeder like that....also somewhere on the east coast would be really nice so I could see him on TV more

Yep, nip it in the bud right away to avoid all the media distraction. It will also help with recruiting his position.

JD's impact on our program is already immeasurable, and on top of that, he still has another year to play for us. Shake his hand, thank him, and wish him well.

Although, Clowney at 50% is still better than anyone on our defense.

I just hope we can finally breakthrough his last season here and at least get to the SEC title game like we should have his first two seasons here and hopefully win it. Next year is our year.

You beat me to it and that was the same example I was gonna use. I'd rather him come out and say it than leave us guessing. Of course Clowney was always a given to leave early.
