yawn...I love it when taters come on here and their best ammo is graduation rates and crime rates. We all know how Dabo feels about the guys on your teams that beat their girlfriends etc...when you guys are relevant again in college football, maybe, just maybe you will be a blip on our radar. You can go to Clemson to talk about History or go to Carolina and make History (or however the saying goes).

I am wondering about the validity of this study. One thing that jumps out at me is that South Carolina has an APR a good bit higher than some schools on here but a lower GSR. |

BFT, what're you tryin to prove? We don't care. If we did, we'd have a thread devoted to academics.

Sad what Clemson fans resort to so that they can prove their team is better.

Well, an APR of 925 equals an approximate 50% GSR........how can South Carolina have an APR of 975 and be at 39%?
Something is screwy about their numbers. |

that is your explanation? b/c of lesser quality students? Please answer me this, why does Clemson offer a vast majority of the same players (especially instate players) that we offer if they do not want such "inferior" students? The answer to why we are so much better is that we have a coach and not a cheerleader and we play in a real conference in which we have to play hard fought games every week. |

Clemson outrecruits us regularly, so how does your argument make any sense? And we target a lot of the same recruits. I just told your argument to the Michigan fan in my office and this was his response "they actually recruit the better players...if you got their players y'all might be undefeated" ... I don't necessarily agree with that opinion, but there's a neutral point of view for you. Your argument is embarrassing.

You've already said that the GSR scores are technically outdated because they only go through 05. Clemson had the upper hand at that time. How do Graduation rates from 7 years ago indicate anything about our football team now?

people seem to forget, when they discuss academics, most (not all) schools, including those in the acc, make exceptions for student athletes to get into school ... they do not have to qualify like a regular student would... using the argument that our school gets a higher quality of student is not always the case ... and as previously stated clemson and sc recruit generally the same in-state kids which would mean that clemson would accept and admit student with the same academic standing as sc

IT'S MY GAMEFACE !!

I actually had no problem with Swinney when he got the job from Bowden.
I didn't see him as a guy who would be around long though. He was OK for entertainment value, but you could tell when he did the walk across the field arm and arm with his team, combined with the "poker chip" novelty and the ALL IN that surrounded those "shows of unity". he was more bark than bite, Still however He seemed like a good ole boy, and his history of recruiting was well known. When Spurrier first met the guy, he said Swinney was someone he'd like to have on our staff, and I thought if we kept it level headed with the two schools, he'd be a good addition to our coaching staff in a couple of years. THEN LAST YEAR HAPPENED..... His slogans didn't work, his show of unity didn't last long and his own fans were ready to carve him up, and the ONLY thing that saved his ass was that he played in a conference full of pansies that made the Tigers look like they were good. But when he went off on USC and the program after we just kicked their ass for the third time in a row, Simply to get the fans off his back about not beating us, and to fire up his team and fanbase before he played VT....... He became a loud mouthed, knuckle dragging idiot who took the hatered for Clemson and the rivarly to a whole new level. Not only do I want the Gamecocks to keep pounding on him and his team until they cry. I want them to bleed from the wounds for a year, and then start taking the beatings AGAIN. Not only do I not want him on our staff, I want what's left of him after we beat the crap out of him the next 3-4 years to be soaked up with a sponge, and squeezed out in the nearest sewer where he belongs !!

Fantastically misleading numbers, but I will talk GPA. USC's football team GPA for 2011-2012 was 2.781 - Link With the total athletic department at 3.202(Fall) and 3.196 (Spring). Clemson's football team was at 2.61 -Link and has Never been over 2.63 (Spring 2008). Overall GPA in Spring 2012 was 2.99, the HIGHEST on record.
Feel free to argue that we are beating you in football because we take kids that score slightly lower on ACT/SAT or HS GPAs and are then turning them into better young men and women. What's the excuse for the rest of the sports? At Clemson taking cheap shots at 18 year old kids is much easier than holding an AD responsible I guess. Look at the record of ALL sports of Carolina-Clemson over the past 2 years. What is your answer now? Our "Lower Standard" players somehow go to class and make better grades and beat Clemson in almost every sport. In 2011-2012 USC's record in all sports against Clemson was 10-3. |

I think Dabo's biggest problem is he isn't very smart.....it's hard to overcome all his shortcomings if he isn't smart enough to know he isn't very smart.

The day Dabo admits it is the day he gets fired...I don't want him to admit it.

The demographics of Richland County is totally different than Pickens County....what does this have to do with dabo and Carolina owning the taters now.
