Coaches That Got Fired!

I saw recently where Skip Holtz got fired at South Florida. With all the head coaches job available out there do any of you think that Skip will land another major head coaching job or will he be sent back to the ranks of being an assistant coach again? Also, what about Ellis Johnson, does he have another chance or is it over for him and back to the ranks of an assistant also?

I think Holtz gets another shot. Not at a "major" head coaching job but a head coaching job nevertheless. I think EJ will get picked up by a big time program looking to stabilize their defense.

skip may get another head gig because he has had success before
EJ will either retire or go back to what he does best be a DC

i dont think that is out of the realm of possibilities....they did have the #1 dual threat QB decommit once Skip was fired, he said he still has USF in the mix but wants to see who the next coach is so he isnt just blindly accepting the new staff.....Morris could be enough to keep him

I think Skip gets another HC gig maybe someplace equal to App State - an upper tier D2 program close to D1 - or a lower level D1 school. I honestly can't see anyone picking him up as a coordinator (or him wanting to take that job). I think he's a head coach all the way now. But I don't think he'll be any more successful than he ever was at ECU.

As for EJ, if GT doesn't pick him up for DC then one of the new HC's around the region will. I wouldn't be surprised to see him at another SEC school.

EJ should be on any SEC team's list...he knows the SEC as good as any DC out there.
I bet SOS would love to coach against him, especially since EJ doesn't blitz much.
