I think this game will be the most watched college football game ever. I'm not sure about final 4 basketball ratings, but the ND-Bama game will be the most watched college game of any sport ever.
Also, I think the group of BCS games this year excluding the above, will be the least watched games as a group since the BCS began. Fla St - No Illinois.......(who cares) Florida - Louisville.......(almost nobody cares) Stanford - Wisconsin.......(Wisconsin is w/o a coach and Stanford couldn't fill their own stadium in the PAC 12 championship) Oregon - Kansas State.......(marginal interest from 2 states with small populations, with K State having almost no national recognition) |

2006 Rose Bowl got a 21.7. (SoCal-Texas)
The highest in a while. Will have a mountain to climb. Rose Bowl will get high ratings, because it always does. But after last years record low for most, this year will be the same.

Just revisiting this the game pulled a 15.7.
Not the highest ever. Of course a blow out, but I don't blame that, I should have realized, this game is on ESPN. The 2 games above it (USC-Texas and FSU-Oklahoma) were on Network TV (ABC)

Yes ESPN will never draw the same as network TV....but clearly the early blowout lost a lot of viewers.

That's definitely a big part of the drop off.

Don't they average the beginning and ending audiences or something? I bet the audience was halved by the start of the 4th. Hell I didn't even make it that long.
