Wrong. Manziel surpassed both Tebow's and Newton's single season records for total yards. Both of them won the Heisman. What he has accomplished is more than just one game.

While Manziel isn't a feel good story, give him credit for leading A&M to 10 wins in the SEC. That's something no one thought they would do. I don't care who his quality wins were against, that stat might be as big as his total yards.

Manziel is getting the feel good story, too. They keep using BS like you just said about first year in the SEC and he is a freshman (even tho that is misleading) and his cool name Johnny football.

Teo has consistently dominated his 4 years in college. He has led ND to where they are. Without him and his leadership they are may be 8-4.

If you want a QB to win give it to Klein or Lynch from NIU.

Remember last year how after Griffin III won the lady who announced it then said " RGIII!!!"

Will that happen again after Manziel wins? And whoever is announcing will say "Johnny Football!!!"

Technically he is a sophmore, but it is his first year of competition against opponents on the football field, so he is a freshman. He should be called a Redshirt freshman not just a freshman. That is why the term True fresh and Redshirt fresh were made. True freshman is for players like Clowney who are just a beast, and if you redshirt them your not that smart. Redshirt freshman is for players that the coaches feel need a little more time to transition to the college level, or for positions that might take more time learning like the QB.

Anyways both are good candidates in my book.

Both are good candidates but Manziel isn't even a redshirt freshman actually. He just completed his 4th semester so academically he is a junior come spring. It diminishes what guys only on campus a month do in their first season to call him a freshman when he had been on campus for 18 months. It is just a pet peeve of mine and it really frustrated me. Think about it this way, he has been in his system longer than Clowney has been at USC.
