Absolutely. To me the timing of this is what seems weird. I mean he has been about as pro-Gamecock as any recruit we have had under Spurrier...until right before it's time to enroll. Maybe he is just having second thoughts...maybe florida out recruited USC...maybe the USC staff backed off after the injury. Whatever his choice is, great for him. I believe he will be solid wherever he ends up. The thing that is somewhat worriesome to me is the possibilty that the staff got out-worked for arguably two of their biggest, committed prospects. If that's what is happening of course

Well, if our team drs did his surgery (as was mentioned earlier in this thread), then I found it extremely hard to believe he would change his mind and go play for somebody else. And that doesn't even take into account that his family is mostly Gamecocks. Just my .02

Yeah, people have said he needed a few things cleared up. I understand UF was selling him on the 3-4 vs a scheme w 2 LBs & a hybrid. Pretty sure we cleared up the role we envision him having in our D. Early PT is important & I'm not sure we helped ourselves by keeping Cooper & the other young LBs on the bench (Botkin said he likes to stick w his 2 deep, & I'll be damned if he didn't).

So, if early PT is what motivates him, I would say zero LBs w reps is a pretty darn good selling point (not great for our team next year though).

It just doesn't seem logical that he wouldn't come to Carolina.....for all the good reasons that have been mentioned on here 1,000 times. Having said that, he would get far more out of rehabbing here instead of at home. I do know the 3-4 Florida runs would be appealing simply because there are twice as many spots.
However, one of those LB is a hybrid DE/LB. Right now Florida has 2 SR, 2 Jr, 2 Soph and 2 Freshmen.....they have 4 committed LB already, 3 of them are 4* and 1 is 3*. Comparing this to Carolina's LB's, very young and unproven.....I think we have 3 LB committed not counting him. So this is what he has to think about. In the end, I believe his family ties and his growing up a Gamecock fan will win out. I'm hoping this is the case.

DL Keith Bryant of Miami will take an official visit to USC January 18th. He has the Gamecocks third behind Miami and Florida State. "They came and visited me last week," said Bryant. "They're telling me they want me bad and that it's my decision. They told me they'll wait on me." Bryant was a long-time commitment to Miami but recently decommitted from the Hurricanes. "I'm really trusting my mom right now and I want her to see all of the the schools and tell me what she thinks," he said. Bryant heads to Oklahoma for an official visit next weekend. He is unsure of other visits. "I'll probably (visit) Florida State but I don't know right now," he admitted. Bryant does not have a date set to announce his decision.
