Pros and cons for each school.

Miami:

Pros - nothing

cons - horrible fan base, too hot, ACC, team hasn't been relevant in years, boring atmosphere



FSU:

Pros - strong football tradition, good fan base, solid team, good atmosphere

Cons - ACC



South Carolina

Pros - SEC, strong football tradition, great fan base, solid team, crazy atmosphere, lots of national attention, becoming more and more relevant

However, one of those LB is a hybrid DE/LB. Right now Florida has 2 SR, 2 Jr, 2 Soph and 2 Freshmen.....they have 4 committed LB already, 3 of them are 4* and 1 is 3*. Comparing this to Carolina's LB's, very young and unproven.....I think we have 3 LB committed not counting him. So this is what he has to think about. In the end, I believe his family ties and his growing up a Gamecock fan will win out. I'm hoping this is the case.

He could be the JACK LB or whatever UF calls him....as you said, they have a ton of committed LBs & LBs on the roster, and I think they would possibly bring him in as a LB & try to get him to play TE after they RS him.

Again, I say 100% cock based on his family, our depth chart @ LB & TE (No chance we ask him to play TE), and he wears G&B gear everywhere. I didn't expect a retweet....first time I have ever sent a tweet to the young man, but his response confirmed what I believe....#9 will destroy QBs, RBs, & WRs in Cola town.

So we have back to back the best defensive player in the SEC (Ingram and Clowney), yet we can't land another elite DE (Alfy is imo, but he isn't coming in as a freshman)..

Throughout the year you constantly heard recruits wanting to see or meet Clowney and raving about him.. How is it so hard to land his "successor"? Shouldn't ever elite level DE be clamoring to play and learn under him for a year???

Shawn Elliot is his recruiter of record and they are very close. I think Matt feels if Shawn leaves then Matt won't have anybody on campus coaching wise to be a support system.

You dont choose a school because of one coach. You choose a school because you feel comfortable there. Once he gets on the field he wont even be dealing with Elliot for the most part ne ways.

This is true, but until he arrives on campus and starts working with Botkin, he is really close to Elliot and would help him with getting adjusted to college. Devin Washington is close to Sands, and he won't coach him. its just that recruit-recruiter relationship

The App State job his is if he wants it according to reports. but Elliot is OC/OL here and makes more money at Carolina, hard to see him leaving

I would agree with this except for the word "don't". You shouldn't choose a school because of one coach, but 17-19 year old's make poor decisions all the time. being a beast on the gridiron does change the fact that betting on teenagers to properly evaluate a decision is a suckers bet. That being said, it seems like he is considering florida, but chances are he ends up with us.

Some players just want to go where they want to go. I know that's kind of an obvious statement, but that just seems to be how it is. Maybe he doesn't want to learn from or sit behind Clowney for a year and wants a chance to start wherever he goes.

Another reason, some players just don't show interest in some schools no matter how elite the player and/or the school is. One example, Marcus Lattimore never really entertained Florida or Alabama. Just happens that way sometimes.
