He was, according to TBS rated in the top 100 (4* 95). He has put on 30+ pounds & believe he is more than capable of playing DT & DE. joe hills, he played in one game, the 5th of the season. statement i believe from the coaches was the 4th game was the last one he could have played in and got the waiver med rs whatever. it wasnt a paperwork issue, it was just the ncaa's ruling.

He was committed to Bama at one time. I don't think he's going to come in right away and blow the competition out of the water but he will make the two deep. We have Clowney, English, Sutton, Hill, and Dixon next year. Absolutely stacked. IMO, Darius English will have a say in the starting position across from Clowney. He's going to be special.

Hill is a Strongside Defensive End and Sutton and Clowney are not. It don't expect to see Sutton in our base defense. He is too small.

Yes both played this season and dixon jr (the one at tackle) wildly exceeded my personal expectations even though I did like the "cut of his jib" the best when they were high schoolers. Both are showing out by playing this early on a great DL, imop.

It is likely clowney and sutton will start. My money is on english to be the next guy and dixon and green to log snaps as well. Once Hill has his first practice against division 1 football players, we can start to better evaulate the likelihood of him contributing next season.

My money is on Gerald Dixon, not Jr. starting next year. He is third on the depth chart right now at that position with the two guys ahead of him graduating. He is the right size and plays like a true Strongside DE. The South Pointe Bookends taking their show to next level. On third and long bring Clowney inside and put Sutton on next him. The other option is maybe we move Quarles to DE and replace the two DT spots, Say Surratt and Dixon, Jr. Heck maybe we even play more 3-4 defense, because Quarles is 3-4 DE and and Sutton is a 3-4 outside linebacker in my opinion.

Are Alabama players considered good enough to be Div. 1 football players? Hill practiced with and against the entire 2010 Bama team for most of their fall camp before being declared ineligible in late August, and was getting good reviews by the coaching staff:

Sutton is 6'4" and almost 260lbs. He is plenty big enough to play SDE at USC.

Sorry if I missed it in this thread, but I haven't seen a timetable of when he is expected to return to the field from his surgery. I'm sure that he will miss the spring, but when is he expected to be 100?%

ACL tear is usually around half a year after surgery. 100 percent just depends on the person

He started on the weakside when Clowney was out and our defense got run over by Wofford. I'm seeing Sutton is 248. That is small. He is a liability in our run defense if we start him.
