Were we good against the run last year? Were we good against the run this year? How much did DT...SDE weigh last year? How much weight did he add this year? By the way, Chaz is giving up 4" to DT & I have zero clue what he weighs this second...he will be fine on 8/31/13 when he starts @ SDE.

DT gained 20+ 247-267 & up to 275 this summer....Chaz, might play some backer, bc we have none, but he if weight is why Jr would start over him, I'll promise you he will gain the weight. Strength isn't an issue....pound for pound 5th strongest on the team this spring. .

It's not just his weight, it's his game. Sutton is a pure pass rusher. He's a weakside player that plays little to no run defense. UGA and Florida will run all over us witout another run stopper in there.

Agree to disagree. I won't pass judgment until he gets a shot vs a team that does not run the option. Cory Miller will tell you how easy it is for a, dare I say, great run stopping/pass rushing monster college DE to look bad against a solid triple option offense (Taft's wishbone was amazing). He looked really really bad.

Sutton will be too good to not have out there on every down. Sutton is smaller than DT but beefier and stronger. He will be fine.

It's not just the that one game. It's just the way we have used him his entire career. We have always used Sutton as a pass rusher. And he has done a good job, but just because you do that one thing well in a back up capacity it doesn't mean you can just plug him somewhere else and he is going to fit. Square peg, round hole as they say. I'd love to see him be our weakside DE but for that we would have to move Clowney, and Clowney isn't going anywhere.

all i know is i witnessed sutton bull-rush and blow up more than one OL this year on his way to the QB...he is a beast and i believe will work his tail off this summer knowing the potential he has to blow it up next year much like ingram did his last 2 years

I've said all along I think Alfy will start.. Sutton is a pass rusher, not strong enough against the run.. he will be one of the best pass rushers in teh SEC next year thuogh

It doesn't really matter who starts opposite of Clowney. We rotate D linemen so much its not a big deal at all. Ward and Lawing like to keep fresh legs in all the time. Clowney, Sutton, Hill, English and Dixon will all get plenty of snaps. Just like Quarles, Surratt, Dukes, Dixon Jr and Green will all rotate at DT.

I believe the rabbit package on passing downs will be Clowney, Quarles, Sutton and English.

He isn't too small...He has the size & strength (check out the size of the top 4-3 DE prospects in this year's draft...Mingo & Montgomery...both under 260....the dude from Tx 250, & A& M about the same). Heck, Abraham isn't 260...nor is Mathews.
