The big issue they are talking about for both next generation systems is not allowing used games to be played. That will really hurt some retailers.

sounds like an exaggeration because that would basically put a lot of companies out of business(or at least significantly hurt them).. companies that sell their stuff..

well they technically do it now with online play for new games

Both MS and Sony have denied the anti used games agenda.

I think if anything they'll both try to go more towards downloads/cloud to combat used games...give some sort of incentive to get more people to just download the games. Biggest set back with that still is some people's connections etc.

First/second Gen PS3's could play backward compatible ps2/ps1 games. New ones can do ps1/ps3 only. 360 is backward compatible except for a handful of games, and you had to install a file before you could play xbox games.

New gens finally coming out and I'll be getting them in about 3 years when all the kinks are out of them.

The last gen of consoles had someone getting stabbed, think someone will get shot this time?

graphics can get much better. just look at pc games compared to console games

never...it is their cash cow...as long as they continue giving me the option to buy 12 month cards cheaper at amazon, newegg, etc I have no problem paying for the service.

There were rumors flying around that it might increase but that they may also try to offer some sort of cable subscription along with it. I know with uverse you have to buy the extra equipment but the rumors suggested using your cable/satellite on your xbox would be part of the xbl subscription

and it was baaad PR for PS3 in the early going. No way I can see either coming out over 500 but I could see both up to $499.99
