Gamecock History Question

To you guys and gals out there that have kept up with our former Gamecock Players, how many can you name or recall that have went on to coach at the high school level, college level, or made the big leap into the NFL? I know everyone will say Steve Tanneyhill so lets take his name off the board now. We all know what a great job Steve has done at the high school level. I hope he continues this and becomes another South Carolina High School Coaching Legend!

Mike Dantonio is the head coach at Michigan State and lots of former Gamecock basketball greats have made it big - Mike Dunleavy, Brian Winters, Zam Fredrick, etc.

Shane Burnham is the DL coach for Iowa State. Duce is of course on the Eagles staff.

Too many to mention have been HS coaches. My HS Football coach was Eddie Muldrow who was a WR for USC in the early 70s.

Dondrial Pinkins is doing a pretty good job at his old High School. He's won a couple state championships.

This is good news as I did not know this. I always liked Dondrial and wished that we could have been more successful while he played here.

Dan Reeves, who can forget him. Eric Kimmey, was he not also a high school coach in Columbia.

Phil Petty was at East Carolina under Skip Holtz.

How about the high school coach in Jacksonville Florida where he always get a few good players, was he not a Gamecock? Can't remember his name.

The linebacker who played for us who is now a coach at Cow College? He was a Gamecock.

Mike Hold also coached in the Arena Football League for a while.

Some of you "Old Timers" like me should be able to come up with a few more names. Put on your thinking caps as we should all try to remember these great men and if there are any women coaches out there, let's remember them also for what a great honor it is to have played the college game, but then go out and give back and teach your wisdom and skills to other young men and women.

That's a pretty good staff all at a new school trying to get better each year. Petty, Jenkins, and Rob Deboer, that's three awesome players and they should relate well to the youth coming out of high school today. Great to hear about former players doing well.
