The Qb from union county is pretty darned good. Mike Williams is very talented. I didn't say he wasn't talented, just not the best player in the state, and he gets that because he played at gc

No, you said he was overhyped.

What does playing for GC have to do with his overall individual talent?

In a way playing at GC hurt his stats because GC didn't pass much and he had to share time at RB with another stud in Caleb Kinlaw. Goose Creek was blowing teams out by halftime and he rarely got any touches in the second half.

He earned his recognition.

* Only player from SC selected to The Nike Opening in Oregon.
* Only player from SC selected for the Under Armour Bowl.

Hill and Williams weren't selected.

Tramel beat Booker out. Not Tramel's fault Booker couldn't keep up in class. Tramel maintained a 3.3 GPA and is an EE.

Akia Booker would have certainly took the trophy home if not for academics. I also have heard USC will help place him in JUCO tho we will not sign him due to it counting against our numbers.

Seen him play plenty of times, I coach HS football. I don't think he is the best player in the state, he is overly hyped, and that's my opinion. I couldn't care less what u think of my opinion, there r better players out there in MY opinion. Maybe not urs. All the accolades u listed have to do with hype, ur coach being a good pr guy and being week known around the ranks. Also coming from a perennial winning program who beats the crap out of lower state scrubs helps.

Not arguing, but since when does academics play into the selection of Mr Football? If that was the case he should of never been selected a finalist.
Take it a step further, I think kids that aren't getting it done in the classroom should be selected for post season awards (Gatorade POY, Mr Football, etc), Shrine Bowl, North-South and other high school all-star games.

Congrats to him; he deserves the award. I am not going to talk badly about a 17 year old kid for committing to the school of his choice, even if it is a rival of ours (or however young he is). You can't get every recruit guys. And I know with our recent success it is hard to understand why a recruit like Tramel wouldn't take a better look at us. Best of luck to him at UGA.

Tramel definitely deserved it. Wish he was coming to Columbia instead of Athens but that doesn't change the fact he is deserving of the award.
