Wow. Hadn't seen his film yet, he is straight nasty.

Really impressed with the talent level in NC this year.

I'm ashamed to admit that today is the first time I have watched the film on this young man. I know he's slated to play DB here, but watching that film makes me wonder if he should be given a shot on offense. He looks so smooth and FAST.

Pharoh has led Havelock to a 14-1 record so far this season and a spot in the state championship and a chance at a repeat. Their only loss came by 1 point to undefeated 4A state champ and potential top-50 nationally ranked New Bern.

As the video above shows, he was asked to move from WR to QB this season. After 15 games, he's completed 61% of this passes for 2884 yds with 24 tds and 6 ints (3 in the game vs NBHS in August). He's also rushed for 1201 yds on 132 carries for an avg of 9 ypc with 18 tds. He's returned 3 punts for touchdowns and in limited action on defense has 11 tackles and int and a fumble recovery.

As hard as it is to believe, the videos don't do his speed justice. He's so smooth, it looks like he's running in slo-mo, but still outrunning everyone on the defense.

FWIW, Cooper is the main reason Havelock is favored to beat Concord by about 20 points. I don't have Time Warner Cable up here so I can't watch the game today (Suddenlink's the carrier in my area), but I'll be listening on New Bern's ESPN affiliate. I'll keep you guys posted on Pharoh's performance.

^Beecher played today, but didn't play well in the 2nd half.

Cooper is the real deal, along with Darrell Scott. They had crazy stats.

Cooper threw 2 touchdown passes, ran for another, scored on a 2 point conversion and had an 87 yard interception return for a TD in the state championship game.

Another fine example on how our coaching staff is not enamored by star ratings but by actually working out players and making there own judgments. This kid has all the intangibles to be a great player at the next level.

He met with Coach Spurrier today and there's a chance he could play WR. Thought he would play DB here, but the coaches must like him on offense to put him on that side of the ball. Fine with me.

Dude certainly can tote the rock. He also seems to be very elusive. I could easily see him playing WR.

He certainly seems to be electric with the ball in his hands, but I just figured that since DB depth is sometimes an issue he'd start his career here on defense. He might just be one of those players that has to be on offense so that he can have the ball in his hands and make plays that way.

I'm interested to see what he can do. Might be the steal of the class.
