well.... part of that is due to the smack forum being mishandled..

Well you gotta realize, smack is smack, it's ALMOST "no holds barred". Most of the reported posts we see are not "against the rules" in smack, and if they are, the post being reported by the gamecock fan is a direct response to something just as "against the rules" said by the reporter. I'm not gonna ban a Clemson fan for calling you (you in general, not you specificly Chris) a name, when it is responding to you calling them something just as bad, I am going to leave it alone or ban both of you

Is there a lack of quality intelligent smack anymore? Has it turned into more of a 3rd grade name calling fest? Maybe, but that says more about the fans in general than anything else. You guys in here are "above" that, and I understand this, but either stay out of the forum, or raise the level of your smack, and be an inspiration to the "generation" of lame smack talkers that we have seen invade the board over the past few years.

And if you see actual smack being talked outside of the smack forum, report it, we will handle it.

Johnny, it really has nothing to do with the smack forum per se. It is everywhere. From the several threads each day posted in the wrong forum by people who know better to the trolling, baiting, and just plain flat out ignorant stuff all over the site. I'm guessing that y'all are just as busy with the holidays as everyone else and that the lack of constant modding has enabled the base to devolve into a miasmic cauldron of petulant whining and grumpy bitchery that seems to be hurtling towards a critical mass of angst, anger, and unbridled hubris. CT has been a significantly less pleasurable site to visit lately because of it.

Modding does keep a tidy site.

I would rather CT be boring and unimaginative if the excitable people have to be put down.

I am all about bringing back negative rep also.
