![]() To his credit, we have become a "sue anytime, anyone" society. And more and more NFL players are suing the league for head injuries, etc. I think it's complete BS...it's a violent sport, but they get paid millions and nobody is making them play. But you never know what a judge will decide. This has zero to do with player safety and all to do with protecting the NFL from lawsuits.

![]() Terrible idea. This would hurt the value of players like Devin Hester, Josh Cribbs, and Percy Harvin. Also, it would cause some players to lose their jobs, as there are guys who only play special teams for the most part.

No one is making them spend money like it is going out of style......The NFL should stipulate in its contracts that 10% of the yearly earnings of each player should go into an individual account for the players retirement. If the player's career is short lived give the money back. Have long tenured players sign a liability waiver absolving the NFL of responsibility for post-career medical conditions related to their playing days, and pay them out of their account for post-career medical expenses related to their NFL career. I would also add that the contracts stipulate that the money belongs to the players but is being held in trust for their medical needs post-NFL career and cannot be touched by the NFL for any reason. Problem solved. Gapo

Former players aren't suing simply because of the head injuries. They're suing because the league's insurance plan expires within a couple of years after they're out of the league, but long term brain injuries require healthcare much longer than that. The treatment carries astronomical costs, but the league's insurance left former players out in the cold. |

This is bad. There are a lot of guys that go undrafted and special teams is a means to earn a spot and work to become an offensive or defensive player. They would be shutting out a lot of dreams if this happens. |

![]() Teams would have scored 200 on Tennessee this year if this rule was in effect. We couldn't stop anyone on a 3rd or 4th and long.
