Man that sucks for this kid and his family. Even IF he was wrapped up in drugs/living with people who sell drugs/whatever, I'm sure that he did not deserve to die.

Thoughts an prayers are with his family. I know we can sometimes become so hyped with the rivalry that we lose focus .But this is a real tragedy, no matter the circumstance. Taking anothers life is the most selfish thing anyone can do. I hope he is punished to the fullest extent.

yeah this is my first thought. Granted criminals arent bright but they may have been after something. Sorry for the family, thoughts go out to them.

I'm a Clemson student, and I lived in Chimney Ridge last year just down the street from the victim. First off, do I think this is a random robbery? F**K NO, everybody in Chimney knows that Steven's roommate sells drugs (everybody but the cops). Secondly, yes Chimney Ridge is a gated community. However, a front gate with multiple cameras can't secure an entire community. Steven's house backed up to a church parking lot. The parking lot and his back door are only separated by a thin strip of trees. My guess is the assailants parked there and walked roughly 30 yards to the victim's back door. As far as what people are saying about Pickens County PD, they are all correct. Those pieces of sh*t don't know how to investigate a murder, they just know how to write drinking tickets (F**K YOU, OFFICER TORES). I have no confidence that this murder will be solved. When the police release statements like "we THINK the suspects were in a black durango" and "we are asking the help of the public" it make it even more obvious that the criminals got away. The subject description is "two black males and one white male." The only way this case will be solved is if the cops get a lucky tip. Anyway, just wanted to keep you guys updated, since most of the people on this thread genuinely care about the pain all of Clemson is feeling. RIP S.G.G

There were 5-7 people in the house at the time. No other gunshot wounds but some of the students were beat up and treated on scene. Its my understanding that the roommate of the deceased was pistol whipped by an assailant. It was just released this morning that Steve's roommate has been arrested for possession of marijuana, after they found it while searching the home.

A girl that I went to high school with and was friends with was kidnapped, raped, and murdered up there several years back.

This happened at The Reserve, another housing complex in Central. It is about a 2 minute drive from Chimney Ridge.

The killer was later caught, and begged a judge to give him the death penalty. The judge gave him just that, and he was put to death in 2009.
