We're not letting anyone slip away. You can't force them to come to your school. Where the kids attention is, has been, and always be their choice, unless you expect some illegal activity to influence them. SOS doesn't do that and we don't want kids like that in our program.

We don't brow beat kids like some other schools and that approach has gotten us many recruits in the past, plus I believe we are pretty truthful with our recruits, another good thing.

If we lose a kid or two in recruiting almost every year, so be it. We also manage to bring in a kid or two most years that decided they made a mistake in committing to another school first or other things happened to send them our way, unexpectedly. We don't know yet if it will happen to any other of our recruits.

We had far less people whine when our program was doing much worse.

We are letting recruits slip away. We've lost Langley and now Rolin. Mike Williams was all Gamecock, but ended up committing to Clemson. Taj Williams really liked us, but the coaching staff isn't pushing for him. Could have landing Greg Bryant, but yet again the coaching staff didn't push for him and now he's at ND. We were leading with Keith Bryant, but he's probably heading to FSU. We were lucky to get Kelsey Griffin because UGA didn't take his commitment. Now, there is a slight possibility of losing David Williams, and who knows who might decommit next.

Our staff isn't pushing for Taj because he has academic concerns. Keith Bryant \picked up the FSU offer after we led and if they had offered earlier they would have been the long time leader. We have almost 0 chance of losing David Williams. You are just trying to overblow the whole thing. Land Ngakou (sp?) and we are in good shape.

They are 18 year old kids and they all have ego's bigger than Chrsitmas. We can win without these type of kids and will continue to win. I will not lose any sleep over this and not blame the Coaches.

Still pretty solid. It just means that Gerald Turner is staying at LB for the foreseeable future as opposed to taking on a Norwood role.

Maybe we should hand out a survey to the recruits to see how the coaches an recruitment could improve? We are doing just fine and I think with Rolin decommitting paranoia is at an all time high.

You can thank threads like this, pay sites, and crazy people(Like me) who PAY for those sites just to read what a 18 year old does... It's not these kids faults that WE treat them like celebs and then we get pissy when they act like it.

If you have ever dated a 17-18 year old......I think you answered your own question. The good athletes are more likely to be bigger head cases.

I would think Rolin decommitting would put us in better position. Less competition going forward. He's better than Rolin and can have a more immediate impact.

It used to be that kids didn't commit until much later so you didn't have all of this de-committing. Now kids use the commitment almost like a reservation while they still look around. We aren't the only school to have issues with de-commits. In fact UGa and UF have had de-commits just like us. I just wish we had an early signing period like basketball. It makes holding these recruits much tougher. But it is the early recruiting/commits driving this.

Langley went to UGA to play with his best friend and to play basketball on top of football in his home state. Do you blame him?

Mike Williams was sold by Dabo, who is one of the best recruiters in the nation. All the hype of Sammy Watkins coming in and playing lights out as a freshman helped get Mike's attention. We were outrecruited there.

Taj Williams - don't know what our coaches want to do with WR. Right now it looks like they want Harris.

Greg Bryant - we like David Williams better because of his speed, which we don't have at RB right now. Both guys are really talented, so I would take either one. David looks all Gamecock, and we probably could have signed GB if we wanted to.

Keith Bryant - he wants to play close to home, and Columbia is too far away. Can't blame our coaching staff on that one.
