Could anyone fill me in on what Shon Carson's role will be with the baseball team this season?

I know he was drafted out of high school as an OF(?), so he can clearly make an impact.

We don't know. No guarantee he'll even make the squad (see Ahmad Christian last year).

According to his high school baseball coach he will probably never play baseball for USC.

Also based on comments from his father the first time he was hurt, I thought then he'd never see the diamond.

We'll be fine with or without him.

He has been taking batting practice lately, so he is trying to make the team. His wrist is still not 100%, but hopefully it will be good to go before Holbrook starts making cuts.

Look for Ahmad to make the team this year. He was the last player cut last year, and a number of players on the team wanted him to be a part of it. Tanner said it was the hardest cut he has ever made.

I have a class with Shon and this topic came up in discussion. He is working out with the baseball team trying to make the squad. That doesn't necessarily mean he will make it, of course. But...honestly it seems like his first passion.

He's got the talent to make it. Being out of baseball 2 years hurts though. Rooting for him and Ahmad to make the squad.

If he's 100% healthy (and that's an if), this guy will make the team 100% guaranteed. For everyone that loves Tanner English's speed, Shon Carson is just as fast (maybe faster).

Played against him in high school, and he homered batting right handed and left handed in back-to-back plate apperances.

Coach Holbrook will have to find a way to get this guy on the field (baserunning, IF, OF).

Coach Holbrook has commented on how impressed he is with his swing already and his speed is a given. I don't see how he doesn't make the team and contribute.

I think he and Ahmad make the team.
This is a new era...and we are playing Holbrook's style of ball.

And with the new emphasis on stealing bases, Carson gives us speed on the base paths..to go along with a pretty fast group of players we already have.

After getting hurt this year, it will be interesting to see what he does with baseball this spring. He must have a ton of talent to be drafted. Just don't know how his hand/wrist injury will affect his baseball skills.

Both he and Ahmad can fly.

I know both he and English. Seen them run the 40 and 60 yard dash against each other. Tanner beat him in both and it wasnt close. I believe that Ahmad Christian will be the only football player on the baseball team this year. Nothing against Carson, just shows how competitve the walk on spots are.

Shon Carson & Damiere Byrd are two of the fastest athletes in the country, running around 4.25 40's.

We all know English is the fastest guy on the baseball team, but there's no way he's THAT fast...

Not calling you a liar but this keeps coming up and I just don't believe it. I'm not saying that English can't be as fast as Shon but there's no way he's that much faster than Shon.
