Phillip Dukes

Will Phillip Dukes be the dominating player everybody thought he would be next year? He got a lot of hype coming out of high school and I hope that he will be a force for us next year. What say you?

No one can say for sure, but I think I speak for most when I say I hope he does step up next year. I want our d-line to continue being the scariest d-line in the nation.

Not everybody...and hype is hype. Regardless, hope Phillip has monster years going forward.

From what I have heard, the light is finally coming on for Dukes. He is finally putting the work in that he needs to become an elite DT. He wasn't doing it before and was in Lawing's doghouse. If you are going to play for Lawing, you will have to bust your ass.

I think he, Dixon Jr., Surratt and Quarles will make a vicious DT rotation.

^^^ We all hope, and yes PD needs to step up - it does seem like he has the physical tools. Aslo, I think Darius English will get some serious rotation time @DE if he can put on weight while keeping his (elite) speed. I was really impressed with his wheels when I saw him in practices.

Where is the other Dixon playing? DE? And what is the current news on his progress?

He will never live up to the hype, that is impossible.

He will be very good. The kid actually wanted to RS bc he knew he wasn't ready (refreshing considering how high profile kids today usually transfer if they don't play). Phillip improved a lot this yr & will continue to improve. He is one of a number of kids who will ensure quality future DL depth.

I actually underhyped him just for this very reason. Keeping my expectations low helps the players to always live up to what I think without putting forth much effort.

Dukes better up his game or surratt, the dixons, and maybe green or griffen steal the pt.

Same. In an interview before the season Lawing said it was going to be hard for him to keep English off the field. Said he was that fast and talented. I expect English to get plenty of PT next year, especially in our rabbit package.

Seems to be doing fine and on-pace to me. Lawing mentioned him as the next in line when kelcy was injured. The only surprise to some is how good/far along Dixon Jr. is.
