Shrine Bowl Updates
Hadn't seen a thread posted for this yet. Some updates on TBS. Anyone care to paraphrase or got any other info on how the players are doing during practice this week?

Larenz Bryant, OLB, Charlotte (N.C.) Vance: Bryant is not some massive linebacker. The South Carolina commit is only 6-feet-1, 213 pounds, but that's quite okay. He plays like he's bigger than that, has long, rangy arms, and is just about as quick as you'll see a high school linebacker. Bryant combines that speed with exceptional athleticism, which was evident when he worked out early on with the other players in his position group. He's a true sideline-to-sideline defender. |

I was able to make it up there to watch a few practices.
Notes: Pharoh Cooper is one talented player. NC has him playing slot, wr, QB, wildcat, and returning punts. He even threw a TD pass. Not sure if he will play any defense. Larenz Bryant can definitely start next fall. Incredible athlete who can cover slot, or jam a TE. Sees the field well. Devante Covengton was a surprise. Very quick, nice feet and high energy. I think a redshirt will do him good to add weight and bulk up. Bryce King practiced some at center and looked pretty good. The more I see DJ Park, the better I like him. Uses his hands well, moves his feet and keeps defenders from getting inside. I can see him being a three year starter. Gerald Turner still hurting from lower back injury he sustained early in the season. He is expected to play OLB and DE on certain passing downs. |
