[quote=keegthecock;3594512]To those of you dissing Taco Bell, may you die in a fire. Just kidding really, but for cheap quick food TB ain't too shabby.
Anyone who eats Chinese Buffet (or any kind of buffet for that matter) I have one word for you Salmonella quote]\ So...pick your poison? I'll take my chances with the Chinese joints...Taco Bell is nearly guaranteed to provide an extra experience after the meal.

RE: Taco Bell, I've always strongly preferred Del Taco.

I've never had Del Taco, plus there isn't one here in Orangeburg. El San Jose has some solid Mexican food.

Good thing about tacos around here and I guess another reason I could care less about Taco Bell is that taqueria's are on almost every corner...like a hot dog stand in NYC. And they are nearly authentic with fresh ingredients.

I just think its funny in a thread entitled favorite places to eat that taco bell and red lobster have been the two most mentioned.

I do like their biscuits if they still have those, but it is just a generic frozen seafood chain restaurant. No offense meant, I just like to do a little better when I go out to eat.

I give girls the finger
|
Back home, Bojangles, Zaxby's, McHale's and Nishi G's in Rock Hill. Luke's on Herlong was also a lunch favorite back in the day. I came close to kissing the girl at the Bojangles at the transit center in Charlotte when I bused there from Atlanta last month. First buffalo bites combo I'd had in years, and being hungover as I was, at the time it was the greatest thing I'd ever eaten and seen.
Out here in Utahrd, where there is actually decent food that I'd recommend if anyone is ever in the area... Slackwater Pizza has great artisan pies, HUGE pork chili verde nachos that are insanely good, and pretty good beer selection. The place is great in the summer, since you can sit outside, and its right beside by the bike trail and Ogden river. http://www.slackwaterpizzeria.com/index.html The Bayou in Salt lake has good Cajun/Creole fare, and a beer bible to choose from. http://www.utahbayou.com/ The Copper Onion has a upper class feel to it, with a menu that changes occasionally featuring stuff like braised pork belly, house charcuterie and cheeses, can be pricy. Family style servings with a lot of communal tables. But, they still sell $3 tall boys to pair with your food. http://www.thecopperonion.com/ The Bay Leaf is the only place I've found out here that can do fried pickles worth a damn. This place would be right at home at some small downtown back in the South. Chicken and waffles, fried mac n cheese, hoppin john, catfish, collards. And it's open 24 hours on the weekend with a full bar, so it's a great place to stagger to have that last drink and pig out. http://www.bayleaf-cafe.com/

A couple of places that just hit me.
Farmer's Daughter - Myrtle Beach (great southern food) Planet Hollywood - New York City (good food, good music, club like atmosphere, very solid place) Mama's Kitchen - Gatlinburg, Tennessee - (went all the time as a kid, small little shack of a restaurant behind some craft stores....GREAT burgers.) |
