That's odd. Shell isn't a freshman technically since he played in a game last season. He hasn't filed any paperwork towards hardship waiver either. I guess it's not that important for this honor. These 3 guys could be stars in a few years. All are potentially NFL bound too.

They had to give it to somebody. I don't think there were many other freshman TEs playing. Good for him though, he has all-SEC potential down the road.

freshman TEs are a rarity, especially in this conference.... probably the only guy with a TD catch, plus when he did make catches they were pretty sizable, I bet his YPC is well over 20
