Anyone thinking Wilds will not be our feature back need to see him in real life. He's way more physically gifted than anyone else on this year's roster. I honestly don't care who gets the carries, as long as they produce. I just don't see him being more talented than Mike Davis or Shon Carson. I guess we'll see in 2013.

I think that had less to do with talent and more to do with getting the extra year out of him (Wilds). Remember he was supposed to redshirt last year. He was a true fresh & 5th string.

With the pre-season injury this year in summer camp, they made a choice early on to redshirt him THIS year, in part to get back last year's RS. The only way he was coming back this season was if something happened to Kenny or Mike.

How quickly we forget that Wilds was AHEAD of Mike Davis coming out of camp. (Remember, Mike Davis was just like Wilds last year. 5th string coming out of camp, and expected to redshirt. Then Carson & Wilds went down, pushing Davis up to 3rd string. Latti went down, which pushed Davis up to #2 on the depth chart).

But I don't understand why everyone trying to make it seem like Wilds isn't one of our better backs? Career, he's has 486 yards and averages 4.5 ypc. And he has soft hands, averaging almost 10 yards a catch.

I disagree that it won't be close. I am a huge fan of Wilds, but I am also real big on Mike Davis. I think these guys are extremely talented, and will create problems for defenses the next few years. I agree that Wilds will most likely be the feature back, but I see a RB tandom next year - which is what a lot of the good SEC teams are doing now (Lacy/Yeldon, Gurly/Marshall). The only problem with my belief is that our coaches like to have the starting back get like 75-85% of the carries when he is healthy. I would hope to see that percentage decrease to keep legs fresh, especially when we have such a stable of talented running backs.

Btw, I met Brandon's parents last year when I sat in the players' family and friends section at the UT game in Knoxville. They were extremely nice to my friend and I. Brandon had a huge game that day, and I complimented their son on his game. What made a big impression on me was their response, they said to imagine what this team's ground game will look like next year with Lattimore back. Unfortunately, we were not able to witness a team this year with both running backs playing. But I can't wait to see the team next year with Wilds and Davis.

I was at the UT Game last year..and Brandon had a great game..I remember the UT fans sitting next to me were amazed that a running back that far down the depth chart was that good.

Running back by committee really opens up the play book you have your backs that grind it up the middle and also have backs who can work the corners. I will take that anyday of the week.

dude, you are seriously delusional. carson is much, much, much more physically gifted than wilds. carson is built like a little hulk, has the power to run btw the tackles, and the speed to take it to the house at any second. wilds can't touch that. carson is the full package, and if memory serves my right, he beat wilds out for the number two spot behind latti when they were both freshmen, and it wasn't even close.
