Why do COD players feel the need to always say their K/D? Is it that important? I always found those who focus on K/D make the worst teammates (in most FPS), and it's why I love that games are making K/D irrelevant now.. the focus should be on helping the team, whether it be medic, getting objectives, etc. I have always been good at online FPS's, but K/D means something only in deathmatch type game modes (which hardly anyone ever plays anymore)

because it shows how good you are with your gun skill. especially if you run and gun like i do.

I have a SPM of almost 500, so tell me i don't play objective/am a bad teammate.

i will also add, higher k/d means a better chance at getting kill streaks in CoD like a blackbird, dogs, and a swarm (which is what i run). those 3 combined can win a game for any team

Guys look im just looking to play. My standing k/d is like a 1.14 or 1.15. on Black ops II . now MW3 is another story. i have a standing k/d of 2.21 on that but this one is taking some getting use to. but if you have a gamertag put it in here.

So I got a question. I get killed a lot, and I mean a lot, of the time when I'm looking down my sight (reflex) and a guy comes into picture and I'll use a majority of my clip but I still die. Is this a connection issue? I notice a lot of people talk about lag in this game. Like I'll watch the kill cam and it looks like I didn't even see nor shoot the guy, but I definitely got rounds off.

I also notice that the SMG is the gun of choice for a lot of people and I use primarily assault rifles, so I guess the high fire rate difference between the two guns has a lot to do with it too.

Just kind of aggravating because I use an ethernet cable.

CF111: In old CODs, have always teetered around even, but never GAF as long as the team won.. never got one at launch, waited 6+ months to pick any up. No, I don't play Blops 2. Never understood the obsession with the online dick swinging contests of "K/D", it reminds me of teens trying to impress the popular kids... what does it matter if one has a 5.0 K/D or a .01 K/D? For example, in BF3, there are times I like to rush to plant or deactivate the bombs, and some rounds have the highest point totals with only a few kills if any (objectives worth much more than kills).. I also heal people and put down mortar fire for support. Does that mean that my gun skill is low or that I didn't help to win the game? There are times I get 25+ kills, yet we lose because no one was playing as a team.. give me the win 10/10 times. K/D is insanely overrated.. it used to be important in Goldeneye, orig Halo, etc, but (most) games have advanced to the point where K/D is irrelevant and objectives/team based is where it's at.

It's why I hate the crazy killstreaks of COD, Killstreaks should never "win a game". The killstreaks in Halo 4 give you an advantage (weapons/perks etc), but it's still up to your skill to win the game after that.

Up until the last sentence I was going to mention wireless could be a problem, but you aer connected with a cable so it shouldn't be.. ever happen in other online games?

The first part is lag. It might not even be your fault, just depends on your connection. I am hardwired as well and still have those issues sometimes, it changes from game to game. It is really bad for me if my connection is 3 bars in the game, so I usually leave those rooms in which that happens.

It depends on your playstyle of SMG vs. AR. This game has a lot of small maps and the SMGs have pretty good hipfire ability; therefore people tend to use them more. The maps are designed for ARs to hold down areas as well with all the headglitching spots. The high rate of fire of SMGs can also offset the lag in some cases, so that is why I often use them.

Yes, lag is an issue in this game at times. I've noticed that players who are hosting the lobby tend to have a half second more of a response time because they are the host connection. Sometimes the lag gets pretty bad, and I am not sure how Treyarch can fix the issue.

As for the AR vs. SMG debate, SMG is king in this game. The rate of fire on the SMG's make them very powerful, and they are accurate at the hip (a laser sight helps with that). I recommend trying either the PDW or MSMC for core. For attachments, try the laser sight and/or FMJ ammo. Also, you might prefer to use the double mag attachment to reload quicker.

If you prefer AR's more, than I recommend to go with the AK (AN-94 or w/e its named) or the Type-25. The AN is beast with a suppressor and double magazine. Type-25 is a gun with little recoil, but it isn't as powerful, so use FMJ with it.
