There was a thread on one of our boards where people were talking about whether we could sign 24 or 25 next year, would there be more attrition, what the scholarship and offer limits were-and someone posted as Nick Saban's brain, wondering things like "What are these limits they are speaking of?" and ended with him going off to sign his 60th and 61st recruit of the class. I believe in the Big 10 we can only sign 25 a year regardless-I know a couple SEC teams already have 30 or 31 commits for next year. What's your limit?

Even though most prognosticators are picking SC to win, we're fully expecting a classic, old school dog fight down in Tampa. We're not falling for that 'we're down this year' crap. Other than the 'Bama game, UM's losses have been close, and you guys played some good football down the stretch. Both school's fans are hoping to add another 'W' to their 2012 records, and this game definitely means something to Coach Spurrier and Coach Hoke. We want a win against a storied Michigan program, and of course you guys are wanting a win against an SEC school, especially one coached by the evil Steve Spurrier. ;) Yes sir, this is going to be a damn good one for both school's fan bases.

Funny that a Michigan fan brings up corruption and cheating considering their athletic department was involved in one of the biggest and most embarrassing scandals in NCAA history.
That said, I do think this will be a good, close football game. Can't wait! |

The catch is, the NCAA 5 year eligibility clock doesn't start until those guys enroll. So for those those guys that enroll after the season, they still have 5 years to complete their college careers. These players are know as "grayshirts".

Can't deny that, which is why Chris Webber is widely hated in Ann Arbor. He was the only Fab 5 member who took the cash, and was followed by numerous other players over the next few years before it all hit the fan. I will say that it was a booster, that it's never been proven or even alleged that school officials or coaches knew it was going on, and that the University took very strong steps immediately once it came out. Contrast that with Tressel, who knew what was going on, covered it up, lied about the coverup-and then was raised on player shoulders and given a standing ovation at halftime of the Michigan game last month. Oh, and OSU also allowed him to "Retire" to preserve his pension and benefits rather than firing him. (The part that really shows what was going on was when Gordon Gee, school president, was asked if he was going to fire Tressel when the scandal was erupting, and he replied "I just hope Coach Tressel doesn't fire me."

Welcome, you (Y'all) who come in peace! Your defense should make the game tough, unless your offense turns the ball over. We rely on our defense heavily. I suspect our coaches will do some different things than you've seen on offense since it's a bowl game and Spurrier likes to experiment. We have some quality personnel who saw almost no playing time, and I suspect they will get some cracks at showing what they can do.
As far as the recruiting stuff, the SEC has tightened beyond NCAA thresholds in a lot of areas, and I think losing Kiffen after only a year to the real cheaters raises the image a bunch. The real edge the SEC seems to have is the level of defensive line talent grown locally coupled with the speed and athleticism of local players who become linebackers and defensive backs. The strength of SEC schedules seems to toughen up play overall, but definitely takes a toll injury and weariness-wise. Having a few weeks prior to bowl games probably does everyone some good, so we look forward to a really good game. |

Sounds like the majority of Clemson fans.
I think the game will be closer. USC doesn't typically play well in bowl games, so I think that helps Michigan. Also, Denard Robinson has me a little worried. Also, I'm not sure we know who will QB our bowl game. I still think USC wins, but I don't think it will be a blowout like it seems many Michigan fans are expecting. I'm guessing 24-13.

Yes.
And the awful Outback Bowl against Iowa. And the awful Chick-fil-A Bowl against FSU. And the awful Independence Bowl against Mizzou.
