The reason I don't think that will happen is that he would probably have to take a huge pay cut to go to Ark St. Malzahn was making $850,000 and that was only a year removed from winning the NC, so can't see them upping that by another half mil or so for Morris.

But the guy was the pre-season Heisman favorite. In the end, he wasn't even in the conversation. He didn't come out last year because Luck and RGIII were in front of him....

I think his draft stock is still pretty high though. He would go before Boyd.

Not questioning that report, but wouldn't it be out of the ordinary for an AD to fly around the country interviewing candidates rather than having the candidates come to your university to interview?

If I could take screenshots of said Tweets I would. There are quotes from the AD to Greg Wallace, the Clemson beat writer for the Anderson paper, and to Larry Williams of TI. He confirmed to them he was there to Interview Morris. Morris showed up and wasn't very happy to see them there. Made the quote to them that, "I've done everything for you two." Whatever that means.

At first I thouhgt you meant he said that to Wallace and Hocutt - completely missed the Williams connection until I re-read the tweets... wow.

Tigernet isnt happy about this. Word has leaked out that Morris talked to USF and Auburn also which he has denied. Adding fuel to the fire, Venables name has gotten thrown in about taking off with Morris if he gets the job.

There will be a large outcry if Morris leaves but you won't see one from me. He probably deserves a HC spot and we knew this was just a stepping stone for him about half way through last season. I don't know why people are acting surprised, maybe just selfishness. I wish Morris the best if he leaves and I'll be a big fan of his. With that said, he isn't the only coach in the nation that knows how to run a hurry-up spread offense.

Anyway, if I were one of those guys, why would I hang around? Apparently Dabo can do no wrong, we live in a Twilight Zone where all the coordinators get blamed for losing games. What head coach gets this leeway?? Only Dabo, it amazes me. Meanwhile, Dabo gets coach of the year in the ACC and Nationally too. So if I am there, I bust my hump, and he gets ALL the praise and NONE of the blame? I think not...I'll take my chances elsewhere.

I think Morris is gone to Texas Tech...and I think he takes Venables with him...they both just seem out of place at Clemson in the ACC...they just feel like Big 12 coaches.

Of course, if that happens, who does Dabo get?
Promote Jeff Scott to OC (what WCCP has been championing) and find another DC who is worth $1 mil.
That may actually kill them in the future...future coordinators will want $1 mil from them, and that could drastically handcuff any future searches.
