Does Ellis prefer to have a "co-coordinator" on defense? Could that have been he that asked for the same structure at USC? I thought that was straight from HBC himself. Just seems weird to do it that way...

I think its because of the fact that Ellis likes to coach from the booth. I think he like to communicate with someone down on the field. So, they could be considered a co-coordinator.

It's probably a way to get out from under any buy-outs too, since the new gig looks like a promotion. It helps the resume of the newly minted "co-coordinator."

Just saw that report. smh. Seriously, Morris must have some serious deficiencies when it comes to personal/interview skills. Look at the jobs he tried for (NC State, USF, and now (if true) his "dream-job" Texas Tech) and they all went with guys that weren't exactly top-shelf. It makes you wonder if these ADs are all enamored with his resume, and then they meet him and they all pretty much say "We'll pass.".
