Trooper Taylor

Am I a moron for thinking that we should give this guy a look?

I mean, he brought in a ton of big time recruits during his time at Auburn...now he's unemployed. He didn't have an overly important position at AU (WR Coach), so it seems like we could find a spot for him somewhere on the staff. He seems to be recruiting gold, as far as I can tell.

I don't know much about him other than what I read on press releases about his departure from AU. So, I don't know if he carries any baggage, etc. It just seems like this guy has some talent when it comes to reeling in the recruits and someone is going to pick him up sooner than later, why shouldn't it be us? SEC football is an arms race, after all...I don't see anything wrong with adding Taylor to our arsenal.

Yes, you are. There is a reason that the NCAA is sniffing around AU and a great deal of it centers around Trooper Taylor.

If we did have a spot though, I wouldn't mind giving him a look. As long as he isn't a horrible position coach his recruiting sway is a lot to pass up. And if anyone can keep him taking the rules seriously, I think it would be Spurrier and Ward.

Maybe we can get Trooper to replace the Leprechaun dude that we have now. As far as I can see Trooper is a much better towel waiver/twirler than the kid we got now.

Yeah, like I said, I haven't looked into the baggage he's carrying. I just know he can recruit like nobody's business, coach the sh*t out of wide-outs, and is one heck of a towel waver.

But I guess anyone can recruit with a pocket full of money.

I am new to posting to Cockytalk though I have been following for sometime. My take on Trooper is we definitely DO NOT need him. Whether the rumors about him being dirty are true or not there does seem like too much smoke without a fire. Yeah he has been able to bring in the talent to Auburn but as you can see from the records, he hasn't helped turn that receiving group around.

please tell me what gives you the impression that he can coach the sh*t out of wrs. He was with Dez Bryant for one year and never with Blackmon. Dez talent and and Mike Gundy were responsible for that not Trooper. What did he do at Auburn as far as coaching WRs? I believe he was at Tennessee under Fulmer for a few years but not sure
