This is what I've heard as well, seeing as he is playing WR in the Shrine Bowl. I think they will be able to choose where to put him, pretty exciting to have a guy like that.

A lot of good responses in this thread. Most of y'all pretty much cleared up any question someone might have about WR recruiting this year.

If we can get Braxton Berrios and Jaelen Strong next year I would be satisfied. Terry Googer, Josh Malone, and Isaiah Ford are some other guys I would like to see sign with us in 2014. I don't know anything about Blake Bone, but maybe someone in or around the Woodruff are can chime in about him.

It's a fair question, it is one of our deepest positions, if not THE deepest, unless you consider QB b/c only one of those can play at a time. We have yet to see certain guys play a lot, like KJ Brent or Shamir Jeffery, that I am hopeful will be big time guys for us. You also have redshirted talent like Jody Fuller in addition to the guys we have coming back. Roland, Fuller, Brent, Sanders, Byrd, Ellington, Smith, Jeffery, are the ones I can list off the top of my head, and we had the transfer from Arkansas in Whitehurst that can play next year, maybe he is a good sleeper. I am sure I am missing someone too...I'm not familiar with the whole roster.

Davidson, Berrios, and Ford would be an excellent WR group for 2014. All 3 have usc eitger as their leader or top 2-3 schools. Would like to have Bone but apparently he is a Clemson lean.

Strong-Rankin would be an interesting option as well but I think they would have to miss on some guys.

You also have to keep in mind, in terms of this year, our WR corp is mostly sophomores and freshmen.

Well wr wasn't a "need" this year but it would of been nice to grab a good one.

I'm from Woodruff and it looks like Bone is a tater.

We don't need a big target to move the ball. We don't throw it up for grabs very often, but when we do, Byrd skys on all-SEC safeties and makes them look small.

I disagree because I thought it was apparent this season that we lacked a big target, especially in the redzone. When we tried to pass the ball in the redzone, it was very hard to find an open man, something that would be easier with a big target receiver. During the Spurrier era a tall receiver has flourished in the system, with the right work ethic, helping our offense to be successful. I hear K. Smith will be a gem for us next year, so hopefully that is true because Dylan and Connor need a tall target to throw to when the other guys can't get open.

Back to the thread, Gaffney has a WR playing QB that is unbelievable. Hes tall, fast and great vision and can throw the ball. He single handedly took them to his 17th state championship. Did we look into him at all and is he a jr or a sr?

Im sorry scratch that he commited to SC state must of been grades...
